Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Scores career-high 29 points
Rotowire
Flagg posted 29 points (12-19 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Friday's 118-115 win over the Pelicans.
Flagg came through when the Mavericks needed him the most, and the highly-touted rookie delivered the best scoring output of his young NBA career. Flagg has scored over 20 points in three of his last six games, and he's trending in the right direction after going through some ups and downs earlier in the season.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Dealing with illness
Rotowire
Flagg (illness) is questionable for Wednesday against the Knicks.
Flagg was a late addition to the injury report, presumably after waking up under the weather. The Mavericks are already very thin, but they are expected to get Daniel Gafford (ankle) and Dereck Lively (knee) back Wednesday. If Flagg is unable to suit up, guys like Klay Thompson, Max Christie, P.J. Washington and Naji Marshall could be asked to pick up the slack. For what it's worth, Flagg was not spotted at the morning shootaround.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Co-leads Dallas in scoring
Rotowire
Flagg racked up 21 points (9-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 37 minutes during Sunday's 138-133 overtime win over the Trail Blazers.
Flagg has been slightly inconsistent with his scoring numbers, but his impact goes well beyond what he can do as a scoring weapon in a Dallas offense that continues to struggle -- even if Sunday's game ended with a win. Flagg finished just two boards shy of a double-double while recording at least two blocks for the third time this season. The rookie out of Duke is averaging 16.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks per game since the beginning of November.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Fills up stat sheet in loss
Rotowire
Flagg totaled 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists, two blocks and three steals over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 123-114 loss to the Suns.
The rookie produced multiple steals and blocks for the second time in his first 12 NBA games, but Wednesday was the first time he paired that defense with multiple threes, and his six assists tied his season high. The Mavs continue to get hit by injuries -- Anthony Davis has missed seven straight contests with a calf strain while Dereck Lively has been out nine straight with a knee strain, and P.J. Washington (shoulder) left Wednesday's game in the first half and didn't return -- so Flagg's responsibilities will only keep growing until reinforcements arrive from the trainer's room. He's scored in double digits in eight straight games, averaging 16.1 points, 7.5 boards, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.3 threes and 0.9 blocks in 33.5 minutes a contest during that stretch.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Will play Wednesday
Rotowire
Flagg (thumb) is available for Wednesday's game against Phoenix.
Flagg is nursing a sprained thumb that he sustained during Saturday's win over Washington, though the issue won't stop him from suiting up. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick has averaged 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.7 minutes per contest across 11 games this season, shooting 42.4 percent from the field.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Picks up thumb injury
Rotowire
Flagg stated after Monday's 116-114 loss to the Bucks that he's been dealing with a right thumb sprain, Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports. He finished with 26 points (9-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-10 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 35 minutes.
Flagg noted that he suffered the injury on a dunk attempt in Saturday's win over the Wizards, though he also mentioned the injury shouldn't be a big issue going forward. The rookie otherwise put together the best showing of his young career from a scoring perspective, reaching the 20-point threshold for the third time in 11 appearances. Flagg's availability will be worth keeping an eye on leading up to Wednesday's matchup against the Suns, but it's a positive sign that he played through the issue Monday.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Scores 12 points in loss
Rotowire
Flagg ended Friday's 118-104 loss to the Grizzlies with 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 27 minutes.
Flagg was unable to build off his 20-point, nine-rebound effort against the Pelicans on Wednesday, but the rookie continues to put up solid numbers even if he's clearly going through some growing pains and inconsistencies -- which are common for a first-year player. Flagg has scored in double digits in five games in a row, averaging 15.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals pr game over that stretch.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Best game of season
Rotowire
Flagg generated 20 points (8-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks during Wednesday's 101-99 loss to the Pelicans.
Flagg hit the 20-point threshold for the second time this season, and he fell one rebound shy of his third double-double. He totaled five combined steals-plus-blocks, setting season-highs in both steals and blocks. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick, Flagg has had to work through some growing pains to start his career, but Wednesday's performance offered a glimpse into the type of versatile fantasy player he can be, even as a rookie.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Productive despite shooting woes
Rotowire
Flagg closed Saturday's 122-110 loss to the Pistons in Mexico City with 16 points (3-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes.
The rookie led Dallas in rebounds and paced the starting five in points despite his shooting struggles, thanks to season-best totals from the free-throw line. Flagg hasn't exactly taken the NBA by storm, stumbling to a 37.3 percent FG% and 28.6 percent 3P% through his first six games, but he's produced two double-doubles while averaging 13.8 points, 6.5 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.0 threes and 1.3 steals plus blocks in 32.5 minutes a contest.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Double-doubles in win
Rotowire
Flagg produced 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one block and two turnovers in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 107-105 win over the Pacers.
Flagg was quiet for the first three quarters of Wednesday's game, but he took over late when the Mavs needed some offense and helped secure the win for Dallas. There may be up-and-down production from the 18-year-old, but the good news is that head coach Jason Kidd is allowing him to play through mistakes, and he's logging major minutes right out the gate. Flagg should only improve as the year goes on.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Perks up after slow start
Rotowire
Flagg generated 10 points (4-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds and one steal during Wednesday's 125-92 loss to San Antonio.
Flagg's first NBA points didn't come until the third quarter, as Flagg didn't attempt a shot in the final 22 minutes of the first half after missing a dunk and a 21-footer within the opening 120 seconds of the contest. Still, the 2025 No. 1 overall pick finished with a double-double in his regular-season debut. Flagg started at the point-guard position, but he failed to log an assist and turned the ball over three times. Given Flagg's talent level, better performances should be expected as he acclimates to the NBA game.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Decent total in blowout win
Rotowire
Flagg tallied 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-3 FT, 0-2 3Pt), three assists and two rebounds over 28 minutes in Wednesday's 121-94 preseason win over the Lakers.
Since preseason games mean very little, the Mavericks aren't placing many restrictions on Flagg and allowing him to be a bit more liberal with his shotmaking. Once the regular season commences, it'll be important to keep Flagg's inexperience from becoming a liability at full speed. He's taking several chances on low-percentage shots currently, and he needs more coaching to cultivate discipline in finding better scoring opportunities.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Struggles with shot Monday
Rotowire
Flagg came away with 11 points (3-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, two blocks and an assist in 21 minutes in Monday's 114-101 preseason win over the Jazz.
While the rookie has trouble getting buckets to fall, Flagg still flashed his all-around skill set with a strong defensive effort. The first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft has five steals and three blocks through three preseason contests, and he may prove to be a bigger fantasy asset than expected in those categories while still being a key part of the Mavericks' offense right from the jump.
