The Bulls have held Buzelis out for rest reasons earlier in the Summer League, and it appears the team is continuing to manage his reps during exhibition play. Buzelis (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Kings, Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reports.
Buzelis struggled in the shooting department during Friday's game against the Raptors, going 4-for-14 from the floor. He made an impact on the defensive end as well, pacing the Bulls in blocked shots. Entering his second NBA season, Buzelis seems to be competing for a position in the starting five.

Buzelis started off the 2024-25 season fighting for consistent playing time, but ended his rookie campaign as one of Chicago's key starters. Across Buzelis' 31 regular-season starts, he averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks in 26.8 minutes. The rookie forward also displayed solid efficiency over that span, posting 47.3/34.9/80.6 shooting splits.

Buzelis has adjusted well to life as a starter in the NBA, and he's been playing exceptionally well in recent weeks. He's been putting up solid numbers on offense and has scored in double digits in each of his last five outings, a stretch in which he's averaging 19.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest. The four blocks were also a season-high mark for the rookie, who seems to be getting more comfortable on the defensive side of the ball, too.
