  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Swats three shots in loss

Sarr posted 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 28 minutes during Saturday's 125-94 loss to the Magic. Sarr put together a respectable final line, highlighted by team highs in rebounds and blocks. He fell just shy of his second double-double in three appearances, as he continues to produce across the board on a nightly basis. Sarr has now put up at least 10 points and eight rebounds in five of his first six games of the 2025-26 season.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Team option picked up

Washington exercised its 2026-27 team option on Sarr on Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. This was a formality for the Wizards, with the team locking in their franchise center through the 2026-27 season with this $12.67 million option. Through the first four regular-season games, Sarr has been excellent with averages of 19.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 three-pointers.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Double-doubles in defeat

Sarr supplied 31 points (13-23 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 139-134 overtime loss to the 76ers. Sarr led the Wizards in both points and rebounds en route to his second double-double in four regular-season games. The second-year big man's 31 points also marked his second career outing scoring at least 30. Additionally, he led Washington in blocks, racking up multiple swats for the third consecutive contest. He's averaging 19.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in 27.8 minutes per contest.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Just misses double-double in win

Sarr closed with 14 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, three blocks and one steal over 26 minutes during Friday's 117-107 win over the Mavericks. The second-year center came one board short of posting his second straight double-double to begin the season, and he complemented his scoring and rebounding with a strong defensive effort. Sarr, the second overall pick in the 2024 Draft, is a key part of the Wizards' rebuild, and he's showing early signs of taking a big step forward in his second NBA campaign.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Double-doubles in loss

Sarr ended with 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 FT), 11 rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 133-120 loss to the Bucks. Sarr's workload was a bit underwhelming Wednesday, and the second-year center failed to record a block. He still double-doubled, however, and he dished out a few dimes in the loss. Sarr averaged 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals in 27.1 minutes per game during the 2024-25 regular season as a rookie, so the defensive stats will likely pile up soon.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Back in lineup vs. Pistons

Sarr (rest) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason finale in Detroit. Sarr is back in the mix after missing Monday's preseason game against the Knicks. The second-year big man could see a relatively significant allotment of minutes in what is effectively a dress rehearsal ahead of Opening Night.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Won't play Monday

Sarr (rest) won't play during Monday's preseason game against the Knicks, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports. Sarr amassed 12 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 17 minutes during Sunday's preseason loss to Toronto, but he'll take a seat for the second half of Washington's back-to-back set. Sarr battled a calf injury to start training camp, but he's not expected to face any limitations come Opening Night.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Efficient performance Sunday

Sarr amassed 12 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 17 minutes during Sunday's preseason loss to Toronto. Sarr impressed on both ends of the floor, scoring efficiently while adding three combined steals and blocks. Coming off a solid rookie campaign, Sarr will be hoping to continue his ascension, as will the Washington coaching staff. Poor efficiency has always been a talking point when it comes to Sarr's upside, so this was an encouraging effort on the offensive end.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Limited at practice

Sarr (calf) participated in the non-contact portion of Monday's practice, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. This was the first time that Sarr has been a partial participant in a practice since he injured his left calf during EuroBasket. Previous reports have indicated that Sarr could be ready to go by Opening Night, and a return during the preseason hasn't been ruled out yet.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Suffers calf injury in EuroBasket

Sarr (calf) will miss the rest of the EuroBasket tournament, but he's expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. The severity of the issue is unclear, though Sarr won't need surgery to address the problem. His status will still be worth monitoring this fall, as it's possible the 2024 No. 1 overall pick will have his reps limited in training camp in some capacity due to the setback. If Sarr is restricted in any way to begin the new year, Tristan Vukcevic, Anthony Gill and Marvin Bagley are the next men up on Washington's depth chart at center.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Healthy for EuroBasket play

Sarr (rest) contributed seven points and four rebounds for France in Thursday's 92-64 EuroBasket victory over Belgium. Sarr made two appearances in the Las Vegas Summer League before the Wizards shut him down, and he's since returned to action ahead of the new season. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick is looking to take another step forward in 2025-26, as Sarr averaged 15.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game following last year's All-Star break but shot just 39.5 percent from the floor during this stretch.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Ruled out Tuesday

Sarr (rest) won't play in Tuesday's Summer League game against the 76ers, Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network reports. Sarr will sit out the front end of the team's back-to-back set. The 20-year-old big man's next opportunity to play will come Wednesday against the Jazz. He last appeared in Sunday's win over the Nets, contributing 16 points (7-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, eight blocks and two assists in 29 minutes.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Plays just 16 minutes

Sarr supplied 10 points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal across 16 minutes during Sunday's 119-118 win over Miami. Sarr wasn't utilized much in the season finale with Tristan Vukcevic getting an extended look off the bench. As a rookie, Sarr ended up making 67 regular-season appearances, hitting 39.4 percent from the field and 67.9 percent from the line with averages of 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.6 three-pointers in 27.1 minutes per contest. He finished just outside the top-150 in nine-category formats on a per-game basis.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Excellent two-way performance

Sarr racked up 20 points (8-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 104-98 loss to the Pacers. Sarr recorded a double-double for the first time since March 21, when the rookie recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 120-105 loss to the Magic. Sarr might not be racking up as many double-doubles as his playing style would suggest, but the rookie remains a solid contributor on both ends of the court. He's scored in double digits in nine of his previous 11 outings, averaging 15.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 blocks per game in that stretch.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Attempts 17 shots

Sarr ended with 16 points (7-17 FG, 2-9 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 32 minutes during Sunday's 124-90 loss to the Celtics. This was Sarr's ninth game of his rookie campaign with at least 17 shot attempts. It's no secret that his offensive game is very raw, as he's hitting 39.6 percent from the field this season. The Wizards are clearly giving him the green light, presumably to speed up his development. His defense has been tremendous, though, as he's averaging 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals on the season.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Balanced showing in defeat

Sarr ended with 10 points (4-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal over 32 minutes in Thursday's 109-97 loss to Orlando. Sarr struggled shooting the ball in Thursday's contest but still finished as one of four players in double figures in scoring while concluding second in assists in a losing effort. Sarr set a new season high in assists, and he has now tallied at least five rebounds and five assists in seven outings.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Thriving from three-point range

Sarr notched 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes during Friday's 120-105 loss to Orlando. Sarr was productive on both ends of the court and recorded a double-double for the third time over his last eight appearances, so the progress the rookie has been making of late is noticeable. One area in which he's improved massively is his outside shooting, and he's getting more comfortable playing on the perimeter. In fact, Sarr has drained two or more threes in five games in a row, a span in which he's averaging 22.8 points per game while shooting an impressive 47.4 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Top scorer in balanced outing

Sarr notched 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and four blocks in 30 minutes during Thursday's 129-125 win over Detroit. Sarr led Washington on both ends of the floor Thursday, pacing all Wizards in scoring and blocks in a well-rounded performance. Sarr has tallied at least 15 points and four blocks in two contests this season. Over his last five appearances, Sarr has averaged 14.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 blocks in 28.0 minutes per game.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Nabs double-double in Toronto

Sarr ended with 10 points (5-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and one block across 28 minutes during Saturday's 118-117 victory over the Raptors. The second overall pick in the 2024 Draft collected the seventh double-double of his career, and his first since Jan. 23. Sarr has had something of a stop-start rookie campaign, but in four games since returning from a sprained ankle, the 19-year-old has averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.3 threes, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks as he teases his multi-category fantasy potential.

  • Wizards' Alex Sarr: Puts up 21 points

Sarr closed Wednesday's 125-122 victory over Utah with 21 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 29 minutes. Sarr reached the 20-point mark for the first time since Feb. 21, when he notched 22 points and seven boards in a loss to the Bucks. The rookie Frenchman has been struggling with injuries lately, and he's been limited to just five appearances since the beginning of November. The lack of availability limits his upside a bit.
