Marshall notched 23 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 113-111 loss to the Knicks.
With Anthony Davis (calf) still unavailable, Marshall played more than 30 minutes for only the third time this season and tied D'Angelo Russell for the team scoring lead. Marshall has run hot and cold of late, scoring in double digits in five of the last eight games (one start) while averaging 16.8 points, 6.1 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.5 threes and 1.3 steals and shooting 51.2 percent from the floor in 29.8 minutes a contest.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Drops 28 points in double OT loss
Marshall registered 28 points (8-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-10 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 47 minutes during Friday's 133-127 double overtime loss to the Clippers.
Marshall can be hit-or-miss, but he's been in a nice rhythm over the past five games, posting averages of 19.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 triples, 1.4 steals and just 0.8 turnovers per contest. His production will likely drop off a cliff once Anthony Davis (calf) gets back to the floor, but with AD hurt and Dereck Lively on a minutes cap, Marshall should continue to see a ton of opportunity with the Mavericks.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Starting Friday
Marshall is part of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Clippers, Christian Clark of The Athletic reports.
Marshall will draw the start due to the absences of P.J. Washington (shoulder) and Anthony Davis (calf). It'll be Marshall's first start of the campaign. In his last four games, the 27-year-old forward is averaging 16.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals across 26.8 minutes.

Marshall carried his team to a victory by turning in his best performance of the 2025-26 season. He found success from all over the floor, shooting with efficiency from the field while also getting to the charity stripe with ease. Marshall has looked sharp in back-to-back games, pouring in 46 total points along with 15 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Marshall recorded his best scoring mark of the campaign in this loss Friday. The former Xavier standout can be a reliable scoring weapon for the Mavs when given enough minutes, as evidenced during some stretches last season, but he hasn't been able to produce much in 2025-26. Even though his minutes have remained steady in the 25-minute range, Marshall has scored in double digits in just two of his nine outings off the bench.

Marshall totaled nine points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and two steals over 22 minutes during Monday's 110-102 loss to Houston.
Marshall currently sees a consistent 22-25 minutes off the bench and averages 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals. With Dereck Lively (knee) and Anthony Davis (calf) out, Marshall may continue to play in that minutes range, but once one or both return, those minutes may dwindle to accommodate Dallas' starters.

Marshall finished Sunday's 139-129 victory over the Raptors with 12 points (4-4 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals across 25 minutes.
Dallas got a huge lift from their second unit in this game, particularly from Marshall, D'Angelo Russell and Max Christie, with those three combining for 53 points. Marshall was one of Dallas' most reliable players during the 2024-25 regular season when injuries took their toll, and he's off to a great start to the new campaign with averages of 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 24.3 minutes per contest through three games.

The 27-year-old forward is coming off a career-best season with Dallas, averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 boards, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 27.8 minutes over 69 regular-season games. However, Marshall started 31 of those contests as the injury-plagued Mavericks tried to patch together a lineup for long stretches of the campaign. Better luck on the health front, as well as the addition of first overall pick Cooper Flagg, will likely consign Marshall to the second unit in 2025-26, capping his minutes and production.

Marshall supplied 13 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals across 34 minutes during Friday's 120-106 Play-In Game loss to the Grizzlies.
Marshall's season-high three blocks weren't enough to help Dallas avoid elimination from playoff contention. After spending the first four seasons of his career in New Orleans, the 27-year-old forward enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024-25 with the Mavericks. Across Marshall's 69 regular-season appearances, including 31 starts, he averaged 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 10 steals in 27.8 minutes.

Marshall didn't have his best performance Sunday, although to be fair, he was one of the few regulars who suited up for this regular-season finale and was limited to 28 minutes. He should see a steady role in the rotation during the postseason run, beginning with the matchup against the Kings on Wednesday, but he's likely to come off the bench if most of the frontcourt options are healthy.
