Nets' Nic Claxton: Double-double in loss
Claxton amassed 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one block across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 117-112 loss to the Hawks.
Claxton recorded his first double-double of the season, a welcome sight after a somewhat modest start to the campaign. He also recorded his first block of the season, something managers will be hoping is the first of many. Through five games, Claxton is averaging 12.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 combined steals and blocks. Brooklyn has already shown its hand when it comes to what this season might look like, and that'll mean sporadic production for Claxton.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Flirts with double-double in loss
Claxton put up 10 points (5-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, four assists and three steals across 31 minutes in Friday's 131-124 loss to Cleveland.
Claxton has scored in double digits in both games to start the season, but has yet to record a block or a three-pointer. Cam Thomas and Michael Porter handled the brunt of Brooklyn's scoring Friday, as both ended the game with 33 and 31 points respectively, but expect Claxton to be involved a little more offensively in games where either aren't scorching hot from the field.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Scores 17 in loss
Claxton contributed 17 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 136-117 loss to Charlotte.
Claxton led the Nets in scoring during their season-opening loss, reaching 17 points -- a mark he hit or surpassed just six times last season. However, he pulled down only four rebounds, a notable dip from the 7.4 boards he averaged across 70 regular-season games last year and his 7.7 career average. While Brooklyn overhauled its roster with many new additions, particularly through the draft, Claxton remains entrenched as the team's starting center.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Secures preseason double-double
Claxton recorded 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes during Friday's 119-114 preseason loss to the Raptors.
Claxton posted a strong showing on the offensive end and was one of two starters to score in double digits. The big man also showed up on the boards, where he snagged a team-high 11 rebounds. Claxton will be in search of a bounce-back campaign heading into the 2025-26 regular season after seeing a noticeable dip in his scoring and rebounding averages a year ago.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Nears double-double Saturday
Claxton posted 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and eight rebounds across 15 minutes in Saturday's 123-88 exhibition game win over Hapoel Jerusalem.
Claxton nearly secured a double-double in limited playing time during the team's preseason opener, and he was one of four Nets players to score in double figures. The 26-year-old big man recorded 13 double-doubles in 70 regular-season appearances (62 starts) last season, during which he averaged 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks across 26.9 minutes per contest.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Back is doing better
Claxton said during Tuesday's Media Day that his back is a lot better, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Claxton was hampered by a back issue for the majority of the 2024-25 season. He said he's had "a really good offseason," however, setting him up for a potential bounce-back campaign. Despite being limited, Claxton put up regular-season averages of 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.4 blocks on 56.3 percent from the field and 51.3 percent from the line in 2024-25.

Claxton produced 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 FT) and two rebounds in 22 minutes during Sunday's 113-105 loss to the Knicks.
Making his 70th and final appearance of the regular season, Claxton went out with a muted performance in Sunday's loss. Claxton took a step back in 2024-25, as he returned 11th-round value in nine-category formats with 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.4 blocks on 56.3 percent from the field and 51.3 percent from the line.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Omitted from injury report
Claxton (rest) is not on the Nets' injury report ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Knicks, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Claxton has missed three of the Nets' last seven games due to rest purposes, but the 25-year-old center looks to be available for Sunday's contest. He has averaged 10.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 blocks over 27.4 minutes per game since the beginning of March.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Won't play against Minnesota
Claxton is out for Friday's game versus the Timberwolves due to rest purposes, Meghan Triplett of YES Network reports.
Claxton will sit out the second leg of Brooklyn's back-to-back Friday due to rest purposes. Drew Timme and Trendon Watford are candidates to receive increased playing time in Claxton's absence. Claxton's next chance to suit up is Sunday's regular-season finale against the Knicks.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Limited in start
Claxton finished with seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block across 19 minutes during Thursday's 133-109 loss to the Hawks.
Claxton played fewer than 20 minutes for the third straight game, one of which he missed altogether due to rest purposes. Given the Nets have well and truly packed it in for the season, it is somewhat surprising to see Claxton on the active roster. With that said, health has been an issue in the past, so it is certainly encouraging that he is giving it a go, despite the fact that wins are not on the agenda. Through 69 games, Claxton has put up averages of 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 26.9 minutes per game.

Claxton (rest) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.
After missing Sunday's game versus the Raptors due to rest purposes, Claxton will be back in the rotation and could have a higher floor due to Day'Ron Sharpe (knee) being out once again. Claxton has averaged 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks over his last five outings.

Claxton had 18 points (9-10 FG), six rebounds, five assists and two steals across 24 minutes during Thursday's 105-90 loss to the Timberwolves.
This was Claxton's fourth game of the season with at least five assists. The center continues to trend up, and over his last six appearances, he's produced 13.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks on 63.2 percent shooting from the field.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Off injury report
Claxton (rest) is available for Monday's game against the Mavericks.
Claxton missed the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday against the Wizards for rest purposes, but he will be available for Monday's contest in Dallas. Over his last five appearances, Claxton has averaged 12.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.8 assists in 27.6 minutes per game.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Resting Saturday
Claxton (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Wizards.
With Saturday's contest being the second of a back-to-back set, Claxton will get a breather after he logged 20 minutes and finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, two blocks and one assist in Friday's 132-100 loss to the Clippers. Day'Ron Sharpe (knee) is also out Saturday, so the Nets will likely rely on Drew Timme, Trendon Watford and Noah Clowney (illness) to cover minutes at center.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Gets little help in loss
Claxton recorded 22 points (10-14 FG, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and five blocks in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 116-86 loss to the Raptors.
The 25-year-old center led the Nets in scoring and rebounding, but no other Brooklyn player managed more than 13 points or six boards. Claxton's 22 points were a season high, while his five rejections represented his best defensive showing since March 1. In March, he's averaging 10.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 blocks in 13 appearances while shooting 58.9 percent from the floor.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Solid performance in loss
Claxton racked up 19 points (8-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one block over 27 minutes during Monday's 120-101 loss to the Mavericks.
Claxton was one of the few standout performers for the Nets in this 19-point defeat, although he hasn't been playing at a very high level of late, particularly on the offensive end of the court. This was just the third time he scored in double digits since the beginning of March, putting up a line of 9.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per game across his 12 outings this month.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Flirts with double-double
Claxton ended Saturday's 108-103 loss to the Pacers with nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists across 32 minutes.
Claxton continues to put together his healthiest season in recent memory, having missed just eight games thus far. However, despite the consistency, his production has left a little to be desired. Through 62 games, he is averaging just 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 27.4 minutes per contest, his lowest numbers since the 2021-22 season.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Passive performance Tuesday
Claxton provided six points (3-6 FG), nine rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 104-96 loss to Boston.
Claxton delivered another underwhelming performance, continuing a run of modest production of late. Although he has been relatively healthy for much of the season, Claxton's numbers have been far from exemplary. Thorough 60 games played, he is averaging just 10.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 27.3 minutes per contest.
