  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Starting Sunday

Plowden will start Sunday versus the Nets, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Plowden is getting a spot start with DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) unavailable, and he'll be joined in the first unit by Devin Carter, Nique Clifford, Precious Achiuwa and Maxime Raynaud. Through three starts this season, Plowden has averaged 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 triples per contest.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Sets new season-high scoring mark

Plowden notched 23 points (8-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds across 35 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 loss to the Magic. Plowden had established a season-high 22 points in the loss to the Hornets on Tuesday, and he surpassed that mark in the very next game. Even though the former Bowling Green standout is regularly coming off the bench, he's proven he belongs as a natural scorer in the NBA. Plowden has now scored in double digits in nine games in a row (two starts) and has also reached the 20-point plateau in each of the last three.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Season-high 22 points

Plowden closed with 22 points (9-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes during Tuesday's 134-90 loss to the Hornets. Plowden returned after a one-game absence (foot), leading the Kings with a season-high 22 points. Sacramento had just eight available players, ensuring meaningful minutes for everyone. Plowden has now scored in double digits in eight straight appearances while also logging double-digit minutes in seven of the eight games. Given all the shenanigans in Sacramento right now, Plowden appears to be relatively trustworthy when available to play.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Cleared to play

Plowden (foot) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. Plowden will shed his probable tag to suit up for this contest. With Precious Achiuwa (back) and Nique Clifford (foot) out, Plowden could see a sizable role against Charlotte.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Cleared for Thursday

Plowden (lower body) isn't listed on the injury report for Thursday's game against Philadelphia. Plowden left Tuesday's game against San Antonio in the fourth quarter after sustaining a lower body injury, but the 27-year-old win has been given the green light to play Thursday night. He's scored in double figures in six straight games, averaging 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 steals across 31.0 minutes during that span.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Exits early Tuesday

Plowden went to the locker room during the fourth quarter of Tuesday's game against the Spurs with an apparent lower body injury and didn't return, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. He ended with 14 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-4 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals in 28 minutes. Plowden was spotted walking down the tunnel with a limp with only a few minutes remaining in the final period of a game that had already been decided, so it's no real surprise that he didn't return. The team should have more information on his injury after completing an evaluation.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Posts 16 points as fill-in

Plowden notched 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 35 minutes during Sunday's 126-110 victory over the Bulls. Plowden drew his second start of the season, filling the slot left by DeMar DeRozan (illness). While DeRozan should return soon, Plowden represents a key piece of the youth movement that will become the Kings' focus as they recover from a lost season. His promotion to the parent club will likely be a permanent one, as he's well under the cutoff for his two-way contract. He's in a perfect spot to break his elongated stint in the G League and has a shot at earning a full-time roster spot this season.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Starting sans DeRozan

Plowden will start Sunday's game against the Bulls, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. With DeMar DeRozan (illness) unavailable for the first time this season, Plowden will get the starting nod. During his lone start in a loss to Cleveland on Feb. 7, he posted 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 39 minutes.

  • Kings' Daeqwon Plowden: Inks two-way deal with Sacramento

The Kings signed Plowden to a two-way contract Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. The Suns waived Plowden on July 6 after he was traded to Phoenix in the massive seven-team trade involving Kevin Durant landing with the Rockets. Plowden, a Bowling Green product, played in six regular-season games with the Hawks during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 7.2 points and 1.8 rebounds across 12 minutes per game while shooting 64.0 percent from the floor and 52.9 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Suns' Daeqwon Plowden: Traded to Phoenix

The Hawks traded Plowden to the Suns as part of a historic seven-team trade that became official Sunday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Plowden played in six games for the Hawks during the 2024-25 campaign. The Bowling Green product averaged 7.2 points and 1.8 rebounds across 12 minutes per game, shooting 64 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from deep.

  • Hawks' Daeqwon Plowden: Transferred to NBA

Plowden was transferred from the G League's College Park Skyhawks to Atlanta on Monday. With College Park missing out on the G League playoffs, Plowden will join the Hawks in the NBA to provide some depth to the roster. The rookie swingman is logging 16.5 minutes per game over two appearances with Atlanta in 2024-25, but it's unclear what kind of role he'll have to close out the season.

  • Hawks' Daeqwon Plowden: Doesn't suit up Sunday

Plowden didn't play in Sunday's 126-108 G League loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers due to a right elbow strain. The right elbow strain is a new injury for Plowden, and his next chance to suit up will come in the parent club's game against Memphis on Monday. The swingman has received the majority of his playing time in the G League, appearing in only two outings with the Hawks since signing a two-way contract with the club in December.

  • Hawks' Daeqwon Plowden: Returns to parent club

The Hawks recalled Plowden from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Friday. Plowden is back with the parent club after playing three games in the last three days. After logging 36 minutes for College Park in Tuesday's 112-108 win over the Cleveland Charge, Plowden joined Atlanta for Wednesday's 110-94 win over the Bulls and made his NBA debut, recording 19 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Plowden then played 22 minutes for College Park in Thursday's 123-122 overtime loss to the Maine Celtics. Though he's rejoining Atlanta for Saturday's game in Boston, Plowden may not be included in the rotation if the banged-up Hawks are able to get one or more of De'Andre Hunter (foot), Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Zaccharie Risacher (adductor) back in action.

  • Daeqwon Plowden: Waived by Atlanta

The Hawks waived Plowden on Friday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Plowden latched on with the club for training camp on a non-guaranteed deal. However, after being waived the 26-year-old is expected to join Atlanta's G League affiliate -- the College Park Skyhawks -- for the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Warriors' Daeqwon Plowden: Returns to action Sunday

Plowden (leg) recorded 14 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 23 minutes during Sunday's 92-68 win over the Lakers in the California Classic Summer League. Plowden suffered a right leg injury during Saturday's Summer League win over Miami, but he was back in action a day later. He's played a prominent role for Golden State this summer and should continue to get opportunities to contribute.

  • Warriors' Daeqwon Plowden: Suffers leg injury

Plowden suffered a right leg injury in Saturday's win over the Heat in the 2024 NBA Summer League, Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Plowden was helped off the court with an apparent right leg injury, and the Warriors are expected to be very cautious with him in terms of the potential recovery process. Plowden scored 24 points (9-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt) across 23 minutes in the win before exiting the contest.

  • Daeqwon Plowden: Hits waiver wire

Plowden was waived by the Magic on Saturday, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports. Plowden shouldered a nice chunk of playing time during Orlando's last preseason game against Flamengo, but he was unable to do much with the opportunity (three points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 23 minutes). As a result, he'll head to waivers and could end up reporting to the Magic's G League affiliate, the Osceola Magic.

  • Magic's Daeqwon Plowden: Signs with Orlando

Plowden signed a contract with the Magic on Wednesday. Plowden spent the 2022-23 campaign in the G League, averaging 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20.4 minutes per game over 24 appearances with the Birmingham Squadron. It wouldn't be surprising to see him back in the G League once the regular season begins.

  • Daeqwon Plowden: Sniffs double-double

Plowden had 18 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, an assist and a steal across 23 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win over Santa Cruz. Plowden was one of seven Birmingham players to score in double digits in this game, but he also ended just one rebound shy of a double-double, so this was a strong performance for him. In fact, the 18-point outing was his second-best mark of the season, and the nine boards tied his season-best output in that category.

  • Daeqwon Plowden: Impressive effort Tuesday

Plowden delivered 24 points (8-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds and an assist across 31 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's loss to the Vipers. Plowden led Birmingham in scoring during this loss after posting one of the most efficient performances of his career. Plowden has yet to start a game for Birmingham this season, but he's still averaging 7.7 points across 20.6 minutes per contest.
