Markkanen finished Friday's 118-96 loss to the Suns with 33 points (10-20 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-12 FT), four rebounds and one block over 35 minutes.
It was another strong outing for the ninth-year pro, who topped 30-plus points for a fourth consecutive game while finishing Friday's game as the second leading scorer behind Devin Booker (36). Markkanen has connected on 50.2 percent of his field-goal attempts through the first five games of the regular season, averaging 33.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 steals over 37.4 minutes per game.

Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Tops 30 again in Wednesday's loss
Markkanen provided 32 points (10-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 10-12 FT), five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and three steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 136-134 loss to the Trail Blazers.
The 28-year-old forward continues to shine for Utah. Markkanen led all scorers on the night, and he's delivered 30-plus points in three straight contests while draining multiple three-pointers in all four games so far in 2025-26. Surprisingly, however, Wednesday's steals and blocks were his first of the campaign. Markkanen's averaging 34.0 points, 7.3 boards, 4.0 threes, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in a massive 38.3 minutes a game while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Markkanen let it fly en route to a career-high 51 points, marking his first 40-plus-point performance since March 2023. The 28-year-old forward also grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds, securing his first double-double of the season. He's scored at least 20 points in all three of Utah's regular-season games thus far, averaging 34.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from three-point range in 38.0 minutes per contest.

Markkanen accumulated 33 points (12-23 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes during Friday's 105-104 loss to the Kings.
Markkanen followed up a 20-point debut with a standout game, although he could only get four of his 13 three-point attempts to fall. Markkanen started his ninth season with a bang. The Finnish star sank four triples en route to 20 points on just 13 shots. Already an excellent shooter and proficient rebounder, increased playmaking could set Markkanen up for a big year.

Markkanen has yet to play during the preseason, but he was trending in the right direction after logging a full practice Sunday.
