Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Headed to bench
Dieng will come off the bench for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Isaiah Hartenstein will be making his preseason debut Thursday evening, which will prompt Dieng's return to the second unit, where his minutes will see a sizeable dip. When the Thunder are at full strength, it's unlikely Dieng will get the minutes he needs to make an impact in fantasy hoops.

Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Excels again in preseason victory
Dieng produced 12 points (4-14 FG, 3-5 FT, 1-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Monday's 106-89 loss to Dallas.
Dieng's shot volume was high again during his second preseason game, although he had less success beyond the arc. The 2022 first-round pick will be buried on the depth chart once the season begins, but the Thunder are expected to keep Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren on the bench for most of the preseason schedule, giving Dieng more opportunities with the first unit.

Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Fills stat sheet in win
Dieng recorded 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, six assists and one steal across 33 minutes of Sunday's 135-114 preseason win over Charlotte.
With the Thunder resting their usual starters, Dieng drew the starting nod and operated as a primary option on offense along with Aaron Wiggins. Dieng has been used sparingly by the Thunder for the past three seasons, as he holds career regular-season averages of 4.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 12.3 minutes. If Sunday was any indication, he looks hungry to earn more minutes.

Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Starting in preseason opener
Dieng will start in Sunday's preseason game against the Hornets, James Plowright of CLTure.org reports.
With the team resting its usual starters, Dieng will join the starting five in Oklahoma City's preseason opener. The 22-year-old forward appeared in 37 regular-season games (one start) last season, during which he averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds across 10.9 minutes per game.

Dieng checked in for just one minute during Oklahoma City's title-clinching win and didn't register a stat. The 22-year-old saw action in only nine of the team's 23 postseason games, averaging 3.6 minutes in those appearances. Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Rare appearance Saturday
Dieng amassed six points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt) and one rebound in seven minutes during Saturday's 143-101 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
Dieng, along with a host of other fringe options, shifted into a more sizeable role as the Thunder were trounced by the Timberwolves. During what was a night to forget for Oklahoma City, the coaching staff opted to lean into the second and third units, allowing the starters some much-needed rest down the stretch. The Thunder still have a 2-1 lead in the series, with Game 4 scheduled for Monday in Minnesota.

Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Makes cameo in garbage time
Dieng played the final 8:29 of Wednesday's 149-106 win over the Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals series, scoring two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and adding two rebounds and one assist.
Dieng missed the Thunder's final 15 games of the regular season as well as the entire first-round playoff series sweep of the Grizzlies due to a left calf strain, but he was cleared to play ahead of the start of Round 2. He went unused in the Thunder's two-point loss in Game 1, but with Oklahoma City amassing a 48-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Dieng got the chance to play for the first time since March 15 in the tail end of the blowout. The third-year forward will likely find himself outside of the rotation in more competitive games for the duration of the Thunder's playoff run.
