Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Doesn't return Saturday
Mitchell suffered a left leg injury during the first half of Saturday's preseason game against the Pacers and didn't return.
Mitchell went down with what appeared to be a painful leg injury. He performed incredibly well during the 15 minutes he was on the floor, racking up 16 points, one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block. The next chance for him to return to the floor will be Tuesday against the Bucks.

Mitchell was taken straight to the locker room after suffering an apparent left leg injury, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
Mitchell was in a tremendous amount of pain and was helped off the court by two trainers, putting minimal weight on his left leg. It's unclear if he'll be able to return to action.

Mitchell notched 27 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block across 28 minutes in Tuesday's 92-75 Summer League win over the Magic.
Mitchell delivered a well-rounded performance, finishing with a game-high mark in points. The 23-year-old point guard also tied the team-high marks in both rebounds and steals. The 2024 second-round pick has helped lead the Thunder to a 3-0 record in the Las Vegas Summer League, scoring at least 20 points in two of his three appearances.

Mitchell led the Thunder in scoring while dishing out a game-best eight assists, albeit in a losing effort. The 23-year-old point guard has now tallied at least 16 points and five assists in all three of the Thunder's Summer League outings. While Oklahoma City boasts considerable backcourt depth, Mitchell could carve out a consistent role in the club's rotation during the 2025-26 campaign and will likely compete for minutes with Nikola Topic behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

At least in the early going of summer ball, Mitchell looks as though he'll handle a key playmaking and scoring role in the Oklahoma City backcourt alongside 2024 first-round pick Nikola Topic (knee), who is healthy again after missing all of last season while recovering from a torn ACL. Mitchell and Topic could head into training camp essentially in a competition for a spot in a deep group of guards headlined by reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and which also includes Luguentz Dort, Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso and Isaiah Joe.
