  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Pops for 18 in win

Hachimura notched 18 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Sunday's 127-120 win over the Kings. After a fairly quiet season opener, Hachimura has seen increased usage the last two contests for a Lakers squad now missing both LeBron James (back) and Luka Doncic (finger), attempting double-digit field goals in back-to-back games and going a dazzling 17-for-23 (73.9 percent). Hachimura is averaging 16.7 points, 3.0 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.7 threes, and he could continue to surge in the short term until Doncic is cleared to return.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Bounces back in blowout win

Hachimura finished Friday's 128-110 win over the Timberwolves with 23 points (10-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and two rebounds during the Lakers' 128-110 win over the Timberwolves on Friday. Hachimura had a quiet Opening Night against the Warriors on Tuesday, but the seventh-year pro had a nice bounce-back performance Friday to finish third on the Lakers in scoring behind Luka Doncic (49) and Austin Reaves (25). Hachimura didn't fill up the box score, but he'll remain in the Lakers' starting lineup and have an elevated workload for as long as LeBron James (sciatica) is sidelined.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Quiet in 35 minutes

Hachimura finished with nine points (3-6 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 119-109 loss to Golden State. Considering LeBron James (sciatica) was out, this was a quiet showing for Hachimura. Fantasy managers will be happy with the workload he saw, but they will be hoping for more involvement in the offense going forward. During the 2024-25 regular season, Hachimura put up 13.1 points per game despite a small usage rate of 16.1 percent.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Accurate shooting in loss

Hachimura tallied 18 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT, 4-5 3Pt), a rebound, an assist and a steal across 30 minutes during Friday's 117-116 preseason loss to the Kings. Hachimura's usage load will be massive as the season begins, as the team will rely on him to fill the gap left by LeBron James (sciatica). While a number of players will pitch in to make up for the scoring gap, Hachimura and Deandre Ayton will handle the duties inside, providing a stable core for the rest of LA's playmakers.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Solid game in starting role

Hachimura posted 19 points (9-18 FG, 0-1 FT, 1-6 3Pt), three rebounds and an assist across 31 minutes in Wednesday's 121-94 preseason loss to the Mavericks. Hachimura should be in the starting lineup for the Lakers to begin the season, and his production will be sorely needed during LeBron James' (sciatica) absence. He will likely remain with the first unit when James returns, but there will be increased pressure for him to perform well over the first month of the season.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Starting Wednesday

Hachimura is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's preseason game against the Mavericks, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Hachimura, who rested Tuesday, will draw the start Wednesday with the Lakers' previous starters all sitting out the second half of the back-to-back. The forward started 57 of 59 regular-season appearances last year and is expected to open this season in the starting lineup while LeBron James (sciatica) remains sidelined.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Will play Wednesday

Hachimura will play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Mavericks, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Hachimura sat out Tuesday's loss to the Suns, though he'll return to game action against Dallas. The 27-year-old forward was a regular in Los Angeles' starting five last season and may see increased usage at the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign with LeBron James expected to miss time while dealing with sciatica.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Pops for 16 points in win

Hachimura finished with 16 points (6-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's preseason win over the Warriors. Hachimura scored the ball efficiently, although his complementary production left a lot to be desired. With LeBron James (pinched nerve) likely to miss at least the first two weeks of the regular season, Hachimura will have an opportunity to step up on the offensive end of the floor. While he has proven he can be a reliable scorer, the coaching staff will also be hoping Hachimura can contribute on the defensive end, something he has previously struggled to do.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Steps up with 23 points in loss

Hachimura had 23 points (9-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt), four rebounds and one block across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 103-96 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The Lakers opted for a small-ball lineup against the Timberwolves, requiring more interior aggression from Hachimura. He was successful in bringing out the frontcourt to defend him, and he blitzed the opposition with five three-pointers. With LeBron James' future in question, the Lakers are expected to hang on to Hachimura and his diverse skill set.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Hits for 23 in Game 4 loss

Hachimura finished Sunday's 116-113 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 23 points (9-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt), five rebounds and one assist in 41 minutes. The 27-year-old forward came through with his best offensive performance of the playoffs so far, but it wasn't quite enough for the Lakers. Hachimura hadn't scored more than 11 points in any of the first three games of the series, and Sunday's five made three-pointers tied his season high, a mark he set Christmas Day against the Warriors.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Decent outing in win

Hachimura notched 11 points (4-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, one block and two steals over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 94-85 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Hachimura cracked double digits in the scoring department for the first time in this series while playing better defensively in Tuesday's win. The veteran forward is coming off a fairly solid regular season, averaging 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists, shooting 50.9 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from deep.

Hachimura went to the locker room with 4:39 remaining in the first quarter of Tuesday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves after being inadvertently struck in the face by Naz Reid, Jace Frederick of St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Hachimura tallied two points (2-2 FT), two rebounds and one steal in seven minutes before exiting Tuesday's contest early. If Hachimura is unable to return to action, Dorian Finney-Smith will likely receive increased playing time.

Hachimura (knee) is not on the injury report for Game 1 against the Timberwolves on Saturday. Hachimura is not on the injury report for the series opener, so he should handle his regular workload in a starting role for the Lakers. Hachimura averaged 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 steals per game in 59 regular-season appearances.

Hachimura is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers due to left patellar tendinopathy, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Hachimura has missed 15 of the Lakers' last 22 games due to injuries, and the Lakers will aim to give the veteran forward as much rest as possible before the start of the playoffs April 19. • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Available to play Wednesday

Hachimura (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Hachimura missed Tuesday's loss to the Thunder, but the forward should recover his regular role in the starting unit for Wednesday's clash. This means Dorian Finney-Smith would likely return to the bench. Hachimura has played in seven of the Lakers' last nine games (including five starts) as he continues to work through a left knee injury, averaging 11.3 points and 3.9 rebounds across 27.9 minutes per game in those contests.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Not playing Tuesday

Hachimura (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Hachimura has played in seven of the Lakers' last nine games (including five starts) as he continues to work through a left knee injury, and over that span he has averaged 11.3 points and 3.9 rebounds across 27.9 minutes. He'll be held out of Tuesday's game but could be available for the second leg of the Lakers' back-to-back set Wednesday against the Mavericks. Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle), Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent (knee) and Jordan Goodwin are candidates to enter the Lakers' starting five due to Hachimura's absence.

In 54 games as a starter for the Lakers this season, the Gonzaga product is averaging 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 50.9 percent from the floor and 42.0 percent from beyond the arc.
