Rockets' Josh Okogie: Headed to bench
Okogie will come off the bench for Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports.
Rockets head coach Ime Udoka is going big, starting Steven Adams and Alperen Sengun to match the Cavaliers' more traditional frontcourt, so Okogie will head back to the second unit. As a member of the reserves this season, Okogie owns averages of 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers per contest.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Tallies four steals in win
Okogie finished with 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and four steals over 21 minutes during Friday's 140-116 win over Portland.
Okogie remained in the starting lineup, tallying at least four steals for the second time this season. While he has been a key piece for the Rockets, especially on the defensive end, his playing time typically restricts him from being a suitable fantasy asset. Tari Eason was forced to leave the game due to a hip injury, potentially opening up a few extra minutes for Okogie. However, this is unlikely to change the fact that he can be treated as nothing more than a potential streaming candidate.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Scores 13 in win
Okogie ended Wednesday's 124-109 victory over Memphis with 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 24 minutes.
Okogie has worked wonders for the Rockets since joining the starting lineup, averaging 9.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.0 threes made in five games (Houston is 5-0 in that stretch). In a lineup headlined by Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson, Okogie is not needed to score as much offensively but is capable of hitting open shots if necessary, shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from three in those five starts.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Scores 10 points with two triples
Okogie provided 10 points (4-5 FG), one rebound, two assists, two triples and one turnover through 24 minutes as a starter during Wednesday's 139-121 win over the Raptors.
"[Okogie] knows his role," Rockets head coach Ime Udoka stated during a recent interview, explaining his decision to move Okogie into the first unit. "He's keeping it simple. He brings the physicality and aggressiveness on the defensive side of the ball. Knows how to play off other guys and then fits in with the areas we like: Crashing the glass, slashing, making plays, second opportunities." Since being inserted into the first unit, the Rockets have rattled off two straight wins, so for now, he looks to be locked in as a starter.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Enters starting five
Okogie is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Nets, Lachard Binkley of SI.com reports.
Okogie will move into the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the first two games, during which he averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.5 minutes. He'll replace big man Steven Adams, giving the Rockets a smaller and quicker starting unit.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Scores eight points Tuesday
Okogie racked up eight points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 20 minutes during Tuesday's 125-124 double-overtime loss to the Thunder.
Okogie saw a decent role during his Houston debut, though that could change when the Rockets get some reinforcements back -- Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) and Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) are currently still sidelined. Okogie is more of a defensive specialist with a low usage rate, limiting his overall upside in fantasy formats.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Tallies 28 points in start
Okogie compiled 28 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 10-12 FT), three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals in 32 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over the Hawks.
Okogie had his best game of the preseason, thrust into a starting role after it was announced Houston would be resting the majority of its starting five. Okogie signed a one-year deal with the Rockets during the offseason, providing the team with a proven defensive asset. While he is unlikely to play consistent minutes, he will be ready to go whenever his name is called.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: Fares well off bench
Okogie produced nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 20 minutes of Tuesday's 130-128 preseason win over the Pelicans.
Okogie, who signed a one-year, $3.1 million deal with the Rockets this offseason, projects to have a decent role with the second unit to open the campaign due to Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) being sidelined. Okogie has looked sharp in three exhibitions, posting averages of 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.7 three-pointers in 16.4 minutes per contest.

Rockets' Josh Okogie: To join Houston
Okogie agreed to a one-year, $3.1 million deal with the Rockets on Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
After being waived by Charlotte, it's not a surprise to see Okogie end up with a contender. He may not have a consistent rotation role with the Rockets loaded on the wings, but Okogie will provide defense and floor spacing whenever his name is called upon. Okogie holds career regular-season averages of 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

Okogie will now look to catch on with a new team after the Hornets chose to move on ahead of his $7.7 million contract becoming fully guaranteed for the 2025-26 season. He was traded to Charlotte in January as part of the deal that sent Nick Richards to Phoenix. Across 40 regular-season appearances during the most recent campaign, Okogie averaged 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.3 percent from the field in 15.6 minutes per game.

Okogie notched seven points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals in 17 minutes during Sunday's 131-117 loss to the Bulls.
Okogie got his fourth start of the season Sunday, pitching in on both ends of the floor by recording a team-high-tying pair of steals and securing all seven points at the free-throw line despite failing to connect on a shot from the field. Okogie has swiped two or more steals in 14 outings, including in two of his last four appearances. Okogie has averaged 9.3 points per game in his four starts this season.

Hornets' Josh Okogie: Cleared from injury report
Okogie (rest) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against Indiana.
After sitting out Monday's game against Utah for rest purposes, Okogie is slated to return to the floor Wednesday. The veteran swingman logged just 11 minutes Sunday against the Pelicans in his return from a lengthy absence with a hamstring injury, so fantasy managers should anticipate Okogie operating under a minutes restriction against the Pacers.
