Thon Maker: Waived by Houston
The Rockets waived Maker on Monday, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
Maker is expected to report to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He has played in 263 career NBA games but hasn't seen regular-season action since 2020-21.

Maker and the Rockets agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal Tuesday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.

Maker has agreed to a contract with Hapoel Jerusalem, EuroHoops.net reports.
After being drafted No. 10 overall in 2016, Maker appeared in 263 NBA games (65 starts) between Milwaukee, Detroit and Cleveland. He posted career averages of 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes. It's possible the 24-year-old eventually makes a return to NBA, but he'll be with Hapoel Jerusalem for the time being.

With the Cavaliers down seven players Saturday, Maker was thrust into the rotation out of necessity. He still struggled to find meaningful minutes against his former team, and he wasn't particularly productive in his time on the court. Cavaliers' Thon Maker: Receives starting nod
Maker will start Wednesday's preseason game against the Knicks, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The 23-year-old is competing for a spot on Cleveland's roster in training camp, and he'll join the starting five Wednesday with Kevin Love (calf), Cedi Osman (ankle), Larry Nance (jaw) and JaVale McGee (undisclosed) all sidelined.
