DiVincenzo notched 14 points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 116-115 loss to the Lakers.
DiVincenzo had an efficient game while Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels enjoyed the spotlight. Additional support from Rob Dillingham and Bones Hyland should also populate this spot over the next couple of weeks. However, DiVincenzo has a firm hold on a starting role for now, as Mike Conley was coming off the bench to begin the season before moving into a starting role following an injury to Anthony Edwards (hamstring).

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Quiet in 20 minutes
DiVincenzo chipped in seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 118-114 win over the Trail Blazers.
DiVincenzo has replaced Mike Conley as the starting floor general to begin the 2025-26 campaign, but he got off to a rough start Wednesday with six turnovers in 20 minutes. Mike Conley was just as quiet in 13 minutes, and it's unlikely the Timberwolves pivot away from DiVincenzo after just one poor showing. DiVincenzo is a strong per-minute fantasy producer in assists, steals and three-pointers, and he does have some solid appeal going forward if he holds onto this job.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: To begin season as starter
DiVincenzo will be the starting point guard for the Timberwolves moving forward, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
DiVincenzo will replace Mike Conley as the starting floor general to begin the 2025-26 campaign. Conley will remain a vital piece for Minnesota, but as a reserve. DiVincenzo started 10 regular-season games last season, averaging 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 44.1 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from beyond the arc.

DiVincenzo shifted to the bench after starting the first game of the preseason, delivering an underwhelming performance. Since arriving in Minnesota last season, DiVincenzo has struggled to recapture the form he showed in New York. While it does appear as though Minnesota will go with Mike Conley as the starting point guard, DiVincenzo could certainly be tasked with playing closer to starter's minutes. The hope is that he can rediscover his best form as the Timberwolves make another push for a championship.
