Rockets' Aaron Holiday: Sticking in Houston
Holiday agreed to a one-year, $3.08 million contract with the Rockets on Monday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
As expected, Holiday will remain with the Rockets for the 2025-26 campaign, returning on a one-year veteran's minimum deal. With Jalen Green out of the picture following the Kevin Durant trade, Holiday should be one of Houston's top guards off the bench.

The Rockets intend to bring back Holiday on a new deal, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Holiday played in 62 games during the 2024-25 regular season, averaging 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from beyond the arc. Houston has been aggressive in its attempt to be a legitimate title contender next season, with the team bringing in Kevin Durant. Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks were traded to the Suns as part of the deal, which could result in Holiday playing a more significant role in Houston during the 2025-26 campaign.

Holiday was used sparingly during the postseason, appearing in three games with an average of 9.0 minutes. He wasn't much more involved during the regular season, playing 12.8 minutes per game across 62 appearances with 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 43.7 percent shooting. The Rockets hold a $4.9 million team option on Holiday for the 2025-26 season.

Holiday chipped in nine points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and two assists over 16 minutes during Wednesday's 131-116 victory over Golden State in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Holiday saw a handful of extra minutes, taking advantage of the blowout victory. Prior to Wednesday, Holiday had suited up only once during the postseason. The Rockets will now head to San Francisco, where the Warriors will be waiting, primed for revenge following the Game 5 defeat. Due to Houston's typical starters sitting out or playing limited minutes in Wednesday's contest, Holiday received an increased role against the Clippers.
