  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Not starting Monday

Adams is not listed in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Nets, Lachard Binkley of SI.com reports. Adams started Houston's first two games of the season, but he'll head to the bench on Monday, with the Rockets opting to go small. Adams could move in and out of the starting unit throughout the season based on the matchup, but as a reserve, he's a far less attractive option in fantasy hoops.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Double-doubles in loss

Adams recorded 11 points (4-4 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds and three steals across 25 minutes during Friday's 115-111 loss to Detroit. Adams recorded his first double-double of the season, having now started in each of the first two games. While the decision to start him is likely based on the individual matchup, he has looked great during his time on the floor. His value will almost certainly fluctuate depending on the opponent, but for now, he is worth streaming for rebounding purposes.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Grabs 13 boards in start

Adams provided four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 125-124 double-overtime loss to Oklahoma City. Adams was given the starting nod, likely a matchup-based decision given the size of the opposition. He led the Rockets with 13 rebounds, a handy bonus for anyone who streamed him on a low-volume night. Reed Sheppard played 28 minutes off the bench and could supplant Adams in the starting lineup from time to time, should the matchup call for it.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: To start Opening Night

Adams will start Opening Night against the Thunder, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports. The Rockets will start a jumbo lineup of Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith, Alperen Sengun and Adams to open the regular season. Rockets head coach Ime Udoka has previously said that his lineups could be fluid depending on matchups, but it's clear that he won't hesitate to utilize these larger lineups.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Out Thursday

Adams (rest) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Hawks, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports. Along with most of the team's regulars, Adams will sit out Thursday's preseason finale. The big man's next opportunity to suit up will come in the Rockets' regular-season opener against the Thunder on Tuesday.

Adams will start in Tuesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. The veteran center will join Alperen Sengun in the frontcourt, pushing Reed Sheppard to the bench. • Rockets' Steven Adams: Back in action Tuesday

Adams (rest) will be available for Tuesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Adams was rested for Wednesday's preseason game against Utah, but Rockets coach Ime Udoka is planning for his regulars to play in the final two preseason games. Adams and Clint Capela are likely to split the backup center duties this season, though there has been some talk of Alperen Sengun playing some power forward as well.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Will rest Wednesday

Adams (rest) won't play during Wednesday's preseason game against Utah, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Adams played 16 minutes in the preseason opener Monday against the Hawks, finishing with eight points, five rebounds and two assists. He received a lot of maintenance days during the 2024-25 regular season, so it's not a surprise to see him get a night off for this exhibition.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Signs three-year extension

The Rockets have agreed to a three-year, $39 million contract extension with Adams, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Adams was expected to be a hot commodity in free agency this summer after having an impressive showing in the NBA playoffs. The Rockets value what the veteran center brings to the table and got an extension done before he could test free agency in July. In seven games during the postseason, Adams averaged 5.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 60 percent from the field.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Struggles in Game 7

Adams ended with three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 FT) and seven rebounds over 26 minutes during Sunday's 103-89 loss to the Warriors in Game 7 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Adams had a strong series overall, but couldn't make a significant impact Sunday with the Rockets attempting to utilize a frontcourt-heavy rotation. Adams was used sparingly in the regular season, playing an average of 13.7 minutes per night in 58 appearances with 3.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Adams is likely to generate considerable interest from contending teams as a free agent this offseason.

Adams (illness) is available for Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Adams is now questionable for Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors due to an illness. Adams was added to the team's injury report about 90 minutes before tipoff. Adams ended Sunday's 95-85 loss to the Warriors in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with six points (3-4 FG, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist across 19 minutes. Although Adams would alternate roles with Jock Landale during the regular season at times, he'll likely claim the bulk of the backup center minutes during the playoffs. During the regular season, Adams saw just 14.0 minutes per night with 4.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

Despite the starting nod, Adams isn't expected to make many waves in fantasy.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Unavailable Thursday

Adams (wrist) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jazz, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports. Adams is set for his fourth absence of March, this time due to a right wrist injury. Jock Landale could see more opportunities at center in Adams' place.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Iffy for Thursday

Adams is questionable for Thursday's game against the Jazz with right wrist pain. This sounds like a day-to-day issue for Adams, but the Rockets are typically pretty careful with the veteran center. If Adams ends up sitting out, Jock Landale could soak up the backup center minutes for Houston.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Double-doubles in loss

Adams posted 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and three blocks over 23 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 loss to the Nuggets. Matched up against DeAndre Jordan, Adams saw a healthy workload and produced his third double-double of the campaign. Across 10 March appearances, Adams has averaged 16.6 minutes with 4.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 steals.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Grabs eight boards Friday

Adams finished with four points (2-2 FG, 0-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 20 minutes during Friday's 102-98 victory over the Heat. Adams continues to do his job to perfection, providing the Rockets with a veteran presence in the middle. Despite playing as the backup behind Alperen Sengun, his impact on the game is obvious. He is one of the better per-minute rebounders in the league, averaging 5.4 boards in just 13.2 minutes per game this season.
