Al-Farouq Aminu: Time in Boston ends
The Celtics didn't re-sign Aminu after his 10-day contract expired Tuesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Boston moved on from both Aminu and center Norvel Pelle on Tuesday, after both players' services were no longer needed now that the Celtics have most of their roster available again following a wave of COVID-19-related absences. During his week-and-a-half-long stint with Boston, Aminu went unused off the bench.

Celtics' Al-Farouq Aminu: Joins Boston on 10-day
Aminu will sign a 10-day hardship deal with the Celtics, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Boston adds Aminu and Norvel Pelle to counter increased COVID absences. Aminu has plenty of NBA experience but was waived by the Spurs earlier in the year before playing in a game, so he figures to make his season debut as a member of the Celtics.

The Spurs waived Aminu on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Aminu appeared in only one preseason game due to an illness, which may have cost him a spot on the opening day roster. The 6-foot-8 forward was traded to the Spurs this offseason as a part of the deal that sent DeMar DeRozan to Chicago, but he will likely start the regular season as a free agent.

Spurs' Al-Farouq Aminu: Traded to San Antonio
Aminu, along with Thaddeus Young, a future first-round pick and two second-round picks, has been traded to the Spurs from the Bulls in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Aminu arrived in Chicago as part of the Nikola Vucevic trade and exercised his $10.2 million player option for the 2021-22 season, which allowed the Bulls to use his salary to acquire DeRozan. The 30-year-old Aminu has only played in 41 games over the last two seasons and hasn't averaged above 5.0 points per game. It is likely that Aminu makes San Antonio's roster, but his role will be marginal at best.

Bulls' Al-Farouq Aminu: Plans to exercise option
Aminu plans to exercise his $10.2 million player option on his contract for next season, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Aminu will stick with Chicago for the 2021-22 season after he arrived with Nikola Vucevic in the trade deadline deal. The 30-year-old forward appeared in just five games with the Bulls, averaging 1.4 points on 22.2 percent shooting and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Aminu (coach's decision) didn't play in the Bulls' win over the Raptors on Thursday.
Aminu has appeared in just one game since being dealt to Chicago at the trading deadline. The forward posted two points and five rebounds in 12 minutes during the Bulls' loss to the Spurs on March 27. Before being acquired by Chicago, Aminu was averaging 5.5 points and 5.4 rebounds while making 14 starts with the Magic.

Bulls' Al-Farouq Aminu: Available for debut Saturday
Aminu (not injury related) will be available for Saturday's game at San Antonio.
The 30-year-old was acquired from the Magic ahead of Thursday's trade deadline and is set to make his debut for the Bulls on Friday. Aminu missed the first two months of the season and averaged 5.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 21.6 minutes over 17 games after making his season debut Feb. 9.
