Jazz's Kevin Love: Perfect shooting night off bench
Love ended with 12 points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes in Wednesday's 140-127 preseason loss to Houston.
The Jazz were missing several key members of their frontcourt, enabling Love to soak up substantial playing time in this exhibition contest. However, the veteran big man's presence on the team will likely be more pronounced as a mentor to Utah's young players, rather than a regular contributor on the court in 2025-26.

Jazz's Kevin Love: Expected at training camp
Love is expected to be in attendance during Utah's training camp, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
Ever since Love was traded to the team on July 7, rumors have circulated about a potential buyout that would make the veteran big man a free agent, allowing him to choose where he wants to play during the upcoming 2025-26 season. However, nothing has come to fruition with the start of the regular season right around the corner. It may not be out of the realm of possibility that Love suits up for his new squad. During the 2024-25 campaign, Love played in only 23 games for Miami, averaging 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest, while shooting 35.7 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range.

Jazz's Kevin Love: Traded to Utah
The Heat traded Love and Kyle Anderson to the Jazz on Monday in a three-team deal that sent John Collins (ankle) to the Clippers and Norman Powell to the Heat, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Love obviously doesn't fit Utah's timeline, but the Jazz picked up a 2027 second-round pick from Los Angeles to entice them to flip Collins' expiring contract. With that said, it remains to be seen if Love will stick around in Utah. Love, who will be entering his age-37 season, made just 23 regular-season appearances in 2024-25 with averages of 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
