Durant logged 20 points (7-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 23 minutes of Wednesday's 140-127 preseason win over the Jazz.
After getting the night off against the Hawks on Monday for rest, Durant looked to be in mid-season form Wednesday, with the Rockets likely giving people a preview of their lineup ahead of Opening Night. Durant, who just recently turned 37, still looks as smooth as ever as he makes his case to Houston for a contract extension.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Will debut Wednesday
Durant (rest) will debut for the Rockets during Wednesday's preseason game against Utah, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After getting the night off against the Hawks on Monday, Durant will get his first taste of action in a Houston uniform Wednesday. Presumably, most of Houston's key players will see reduced workloads once again as the team prepares for Opening Night.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Sitting out Monday
Durant (rest) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason opener against the Hawks, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
It appears to be a veteran's maintenance day for Durant, who will likely make his first appearance with Houston on Wednesday against Utah. Tari Eason figures to be the most likely option to join the first unit Monday, with Jae'Sean Tate and Josh Okogie being in line for a boost in playing time as well.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Likely to sign contract extension
Durant (ankle) appears to be very open to the idea of signing a contract extension with the Rockets, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Durant was traded to Houston on June 22, with the team aiming to be a title contender during the 2025-26 campaign. Along with the superstar forward getting a chance at another fresh start, he can see himself committing to the team long-term. "I do see myself signing a contract extension. I can't tell you exactly when it'll happen but I do see it happening." The two-time NBA champion is coming off another strong season, as he played in 62 regular-season games, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 blocks per game, shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range.
