Marlins' Jack Ralston: Promoted Sunday

The Marlins recalled Ralston from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. The right-hander was added to Miami's 40-man roster in early August, and he's now on the cusp of making his major-league debut. Ralston has enjoyed a strong season for the Jumbo Shrimp with a 2.04 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 76:30 K:BB across 61.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Marlins' Jack Ralston: Added to 40-man roster, optioned

The Marlins selected Ralston's contract on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. Ralston earned a spot on the 40-man roster after posting a 1.31 ERA and 70:26 K:BB over 55 frames. The 28-year-old will remain in Jacksonville for now, but he could get an opportunity with the big club before the end of the season.
