Casey McGehee: Signs with Yomiuri Giants in Japan on Saturday
McGehee signed a one-year deal with Japan's Yomiuri Giants on Saturday, Ken Rosenthal of MLB Network reports.
McGehee became a free agent in November and after a month of evaluating his options, the third basemen decided to play professional baseball in Japan. The 34-year-old batted .198 and .227 respectively over the past two major league seasons and so would likely not be a valuable fantasy asset even if he remained in the MLB.

Casey McGehee: Heads to free agency Monday
McGehee was not extended a qualifying offer and is now a free agent, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
This comes as no surprise, as the veteran third baseman barely contributed at the major league level. McGehee will head into free agency and likely look to latch onto an organization willing to keep him around on a minor league contract.

Tigers' Casey McGehee: Recalled, starting Tuesday
McGehee was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
He will be thrust into action right away, supplanting Andrew Romine at the hot corner against right-hander Miguel Gonzalez and the White Sox. Although McGehee has struggled in 22 games with Detroit this season, he turned in an .816 OPS at Toledo and may be a regular part of the rotation at third base while Nick Castellanos (hand) remains out.

McGehee was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
McGehee has struggled at the plate recently, having gone 10-for-51 (.196) over the last 14 games, bringing his batting average down to .232 for the season. He'll return to Toledo where he owns a solid .322/.376/.449 line with 49 RBI. In a corresponding move, JaCoby Jones was recalled from Toledo.
