  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: Back in lineup at DH

Abrams (shoulder) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Monday's game in Atlanta, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Abrams didn't play in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Mets after he jammed his right shoulder late in the Nationals' 5-3 win in 11 innings a day earlier, but he'll be cleared to rejoin the starting nine as Washington opens a three-game set in Atlanta. However, Abrams won't be entering the lineup at shortstop for the first time this season, as Washington will ease him back into action in a non-defensive role. Nasim Nunez will get the nod at shortstop Monday.

  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: Managing shoulder injury

Abrams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets due to a jammed right shoulder, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Nasim Nunez will fill in at shortstop in place of Abrams, who sustained the injury when he was tagged out while trying to advance to third base in the 11th inning of Saturday's 5-3 win. According to interim manager Miguel Cairo, Abrams will be available to pinch hit Sunday if needed, so the 24-year-old's absence from the lineup appears to be mostly precautionary in nature.

  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: On bench Sunday

Abrams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

With southpaw Sean Manaea on the hill for the Mets, the left-handed-hitting Abrams will get the day off. Nasim Nunez will step in at shortstop for Abrams.

  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: Drives in three in loss

Abrams went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-6 loss to the Mets.

Abrams smacked an RBI double in the third inning before adding a two-run homer in the fifth. The long ball was the shortstop's first since Aug. 23, and he's now on a modest four-game hitting streak despite batting just .238 in 16 September contests. For the season, he's slashing .264/.323/.442 with 18 home runs, 58 RBI, 89 runs scored and 31 steals across 604 plate appearances.

  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: Swipes 29th bag

Abrams went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Marlins.

The shortstop extended a modest hitting streak to six games while swiping his 29th bag of the year, leaving him one shy of his third straight 30-steal campaign. Abrams remains in a power drought, having not homered since Aug. 23, but over 14 games since then he's slashing .302/.362/.415 with six doubles, three steals, two RBI and eight runs.

  • Nationals' CJ Abrams: Rare day off Wednesday

Abrams is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Marlins.

Abrams will get a rare day off while he's in the midst of a 1-for-13 skid at the palte over his last four starts. Nasim Nunez will fill in at shortstop, and outfielder Daylen Lile has been elevated to the No. 2 spot in the lineup as the Nationals try to complete the sweep.
