In a corresponding move, New York is expected to activate utility man Amed Rosario (collarbone) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game at Tampa Bay. After being called up from Triple-A on Aug. 10, Escarra appeared in just one game during his week-long stint with the Yankees, going 0-for-1 with an RBI.

Escarra was pushed off the 26-man roster July 30 to clear space for some trade deadline arrivals, but he'll rejoin the Yankees after Amed Rosario (collarbone) was placed on the 10-day injured list.
