  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Ends year with third straight loss

Farris (1-3) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss versus the Royals on Thursday. Farris got off to a decent start in his big-league career with two strong outings, but he allowed 16 runs (15 earned) over his last three appearances of 2025. He finishes the campaign with a 6.66 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB over 24.1 innings across five starts in the majors. The southpaw figures to be in the competition for a rotation spot in 2026.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Struggles mightily in Colorado

Farris (1-2) was charged with the loss Friday against the Rockies, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out five. It was the rookie southpaw's worst performance in the major leagues so far, as he surrendered a season-high eight hits and seven runs. However, it was encouraging to see Farris generate 14 whiffs on the evening, and he also threw a season-high 90 pitches. He'll take a rough 6.52 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across four starts into his final scheduled appearance of 2025 against the Royals.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: First stumble in majors

Farris (1-1) allowed five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven over four innings to take the loss versus the Mariners on Saturday. Farris had pitched well against weaker opponents in his first two starts, but the Mariners presented a tougher challenge. His seven strikeouts were the most in any of his first three MLB starts, but the four walks elevated his pitch count early. He's posted a 4.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB through 15 innings in the majors so far. The 24-year-old's next start is projected to be at Colorado.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Earns quality start Sunday

Farris allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four over six-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Sunday. Farris wasn't able to come away with a win in his second big-league start, but he did earn his first quality start. Both runs against him came on solo homers, as Willie MacIver took him deep in the third inning and Tyler Soderstrom did the same in the seventh. Farris has allowed three runs across 11 innings over his two outings while posting a 7:3 K:BB. He's likely done enough to stay in the rotation at least as long as Tyler Anderson (oblique) is out, which could be the remainder of the season. Farris is lined up for a road start in Seattle for his next appearance.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Victorious in debut

Farris (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday against Kansas City, allowing one run on three hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out three. Farris made his MLB debut Tuesday after being called up from Double-A Rocket City. The 24-year-old had posted a 4.27 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 116 innings with Rocket City, but he had minimal trouble with the Royals. Farris' 11.0 K/9 at Double-A didn't quite translate, however. Given his performance, Farris figures to stick in the Angels' rotation, and his next start would likely come Sunday against the Athletics.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Set for major-league debut Tuesday

Farris will start Tuesday's game versus the Royals in Kansas City, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. After having his contract selected from Double-A Rocket City on Monday, Farris will take the hill Tuesday for his MLB debut. The left-hander owns an impressive 28 percent strikeout rate over 116 innings with Rocket City, and he had covered at least six innings in five of his last six outings in the minors, logging a 2.52 ERA and 1.26 WHIP during that stretch. Farris should have the chance to make multiple turns through the Los Angeles rotation in September.

  • Angels' Mitch Farris: Contract selected

The Angels selected Farris' contract from Double-A Rocket City on Monday. The Angels have yet to announce their probable pitchers for this week's series in Kansas City, but Farris is likely to fill one of the open slots. The left-hander has had a fine season with Rocket City, collecting a 4.27 ERA and 142:55 K:BB over 116 innings. He was acquired from Atlanta in a trade over the offseason and will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.
