  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Summoned from Triple-A

The Angels recalled Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday. Los Angeles designated right-hander Connor Brogdon for assignment to clear room on the active roster for Fermin. Over his prior two stints with the big club this season, the 23-year-old Fermin turned in a 6.63 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB in 19 innings. The right-hander will likely handle a low-leverage role out of the Angels bullpen.

  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Optioned to Triple-A

The Angels optioned Fermin to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Fermin has hit a rough patch of late, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) over his last three innings. He could get another shot with the big club later this season, but for now the reliever will try to work out the kinks at Salt Lake.

  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Returns to majors

The Angels recalled Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday. Fermin has logged 9.1 innings across 10 appearances with the Angels this season, posting a 4.82 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with a 15:5 K:BB and no holds or saves. The righty reliever dealt with a right elbow impingement in May but was activated from a stint on the IL on June 6 and posted a 9:2 K:BB across 5.1 frames with Salt Lake between then and his call-up Saturday. To make room for Fermin on the 26-man roster, veteran reliever Hector Neris was designated for assignment.

  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Activated from IL

The Angels reinstated Fermin (elbow) from the injured list Friday. A right elbow impingement sent Fermin to the injured list in mid-May, but after making two rehab appearances in rookie ball, he's been given the green light to rejoin the Halos' bullpen. The 23-year-old rookie has given up five earned runs in 7.2 MLB innings and isn't likely to be used in high-leverage situations.

  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Cleared for rehab assignment

Fermin (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Angels' Arizona Complex League affiliate Saturday. Fermin landed on the 15-day injured list May 15 due to a right elbow impingement. He was able to begin a throwing program last week and has progressed enough in his recovery to embark on a rehab assignment, making an early-June activation off the IL a possibility. Fermin posted a 5.87 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB across 7.2 innings prior to his injury.

  • Angels' Jose Fermin: Resumes throwing

Fermin (elbow) began a throwing program Thursday, per MLB.com. Fermin was shut down from throwing for a few days after landing on the 15-day IL with a right elbow impingement May 18, but he's since been able to resume playing catch. Fermin's IL stint was backdated to May 15, which means he's eligible to return May 30, though an early-June activation is probably more likely.

Fermin was called up by the Halos in late April and allowed five earned runs with a 12:5 K:BB over his first 7.2 frames in the majors. The right-hander will be eligible to be reinstated in late May, though it's unclear if he's expected to be available at that point.
