  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Continues strong start to season

Rodriguez tossed a scoreless inning against Colorado on Sunday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters. Rodriguez was deployed in the ninth inning, though it was a relatively low-leverage situation with San Diego up by five runs. The right-hander got the job done, throwing 15 of 19 pitches for strikes while giving up just an infield single. Rodriguez has just one hold (and no saves) through seven appearances, but he's been very effective, allowing only one run while posting a 10:1 K:BB across 9.1 innings.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Recalled to San Diego

The Padres recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday. Rodriguez has spent the vast majority of the season in the minor leagues, though he already has one MLB outing under his belt -- a 1.2-inning scoreless appearance against the Pirates on May 31. Since then, he's posted a 3.14 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 14.1 frames at El Paso, and he'll now provide the Padres with some extra bullpen depth for the final few weeks of the regular season. JP Sears was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Officially promoted

The Padres selected Rodriguez's contract from Double-A San Antonio on Friday. Rodriguez will make the jump from Double-A directly to the big leagues after posting a 3.22 ERA and 0.90 WHIP alongside a 31:5 K:BB across 22.1 innings at San Antonio. He'll replace Kyle Hart in the Padres' bullpen and is likely to work in middle relief to begin his MLB career.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Call-up coming Friday

Rodriguez is expected to be called up from Double-A San Antonio by the Padres on Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. The right-hander is one of San Diego's top relief prospects and is poised to make the jump from Double-A straight to the majors, avoiding an extreme hitter's park at Triple-A El Paso. Rodriguez has a 3.22 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB across 22.1 innings with San Antonio this season.
