    Tears (hamstring) is batting .289 with one home run, seven RBI and three runs scored over 10 games in 2025 for Single-A Lake Elsinore. Tears got off to a slow start to 2025 after suffering a hamstring injury. He was cleared for his professional debut April 15 will presumably continue his development with the Storm moving forward.

  • Padres' Kavares Tears: Sidelined with hamstring injury

    Tears is dealing with a hamstring injury and is expected to join Single-A Lake Elsinore later in April, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports. Tears, a 22-year-old outfielder the Padres selected with the 134th overall pick last year, has yet to make his pro debut. He hit 20 homers with a 25.3 percent strikeout rate in 71 games at Tennessee in 2024.
