  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Beginning on bench Saturday

Larnach is not starting against Detroit on Saturday. Larnach had been in the starting nine for five of Minnesota's previous six contests, going just 3-for-19 with a home run and one RBI during that span. Prior to that stretch, he was out of the lineup for three games due to left side soreness, but there's no indication that his absence Saturday is related to the issue or any injury. With Larnach on the bench, Luke Keaschall is getting a day off his feet as the Twins' DH.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Returns as pinch hitter

Larnach (side) went grounded out as a pinch hitter in his lone plate appearance in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Royals. Larnach had been out of the lineup for the previous three games due to left side soreness as well as soreness in both of his arms, according to Phil Miller of the Minnesota Star Tribune. However, his return to action off the bench Saturday suggests he'll rejoin the lineup soon.

Larnach (side) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Kansas City. Larnach was scratched from Wednesday's game with left side soreness, and he'll be held out of the lineup once again for the series opener against the Royals. Mickey Gasper will DH and bat ninth Friday.

Larnach isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers. Larnach will step out of the starting nine Tuesday after beginning the second half 2-for-11 through four games. Ryan Jeffers will replace him as Minnesota's DH, allowing Christian Vazquez to start behind the dish.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Goes yard in victory

Larnach went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh. Larnach's 13th home run of the season came in the fourth inning against All-Star right-hander Paul Skenes, which is certainly no easy feat. Although the lefty-hitting Larnach tends to struggle versus southpaws, he's been quite effective against righties this year. Through 259 at-bats versus right-handed pitching, Larnach is hitting .270 with 12 homers, 12 doubles and 35 RBI.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Getting night off against Skubal

Larnach is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. Larnach had started in each of the Twins' last seven games, but he'll take a seat along with fellow left-handed hitters Matt Wallner and Kody Clemens while Minnesota adds more right-handed bats to the lineup to counter Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal. With Larnach and Wallner on the bench, Ryan Jeffers will get a day off from catching to serve as the Twins' designated hitter, and Harrison Bader and Willi Castro will pick up starts at the corner-outfield spots.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Scratched from lineup

Larnach was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers for undisclosed reasons. It's unclear why Larnach won't end up starting Friday, but he'll exit the lineup after initially being listed as the Twins' DH and cleanup hitter. In the wake of his absence, Ryan Jeffers will DH and bat fifth while Carlos Correa bats cleanup.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Idle against lefty

Larnach is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers. The left-handed-hitting Larnach will hit the bench while southpaw Patrick Corbin toes the rubber for Texas. Larnach is slashing just .167/.211/.259 (29 wRC+) in 57 plate appearances versus lefties this season, and the Twins could limit his exposure to same-handed pitching moving forward now that the team has all of its key outfielders healthy again.

Larnach has belted homers in back-to-back games and in three of his last five outings. Over that span he has gone 6-for-17 with two walks, five runs scored, three home runs and five RBI.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Looks healthy for spring

Larnach (hamstring) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates. Larnach will be making his second start of the spring after he went 0-for-2 as a designated hitter in last Saturday's 3-1 win over Atlanta. The 28-year-old finished the 2024 season on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, but his ability to play the corner outfield Thursday suggests he's no longer slowed by the injury. Larnach should have the inside track on a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching after slashing .261/.342/.441 with a 124 wRC+ over 377 plate appearances against righties in 2024.
