  • Rays' Chase Solesky: Heading back to minors

The Rays optioned Solesky to Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports. Solesky made his major-league debut Monday versus the Orioles, allowing two runs over three innings in a long-relief appearance. He's clearing out to make space on the roster for the return of Steven Matz (elbow).

  • Rays' Chase Solesky: Returns from Triple-A

The Rays recalled Solesky from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Solesky will give manager Kevin Cash a fresh bullpen arm as he joins the big club as a replacement on the active roster for righty Cole Sulser (back), who was placed on the injured list. The 28-year-old was called up earlier this month by the Rays, but he's still looking to make his major-league debut.

  • Rays' Chase Solesky: Sent to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Solesky to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports. Solesky was called up for his first taste of the majors this week and will return to Durham without making his big-league debut. The 28-year-old remains on the 40-man roster, but that may not last long given his 6.57 ERA and 1.74 WHIP across 24.2 innings at Triple-A this year.

  • Rays' Chase Solesky: Contract selected

The Rays selected Solesky from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports. The right-hander joined the Rays as a non-roster invitee in January and will now get his first look in the big leagues. Solesky has struggled to a 6.57 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB across 24.2 frames (six starts) with Durham this year, so he'll likely be limited to a low-leverage relief role while up with Tampa Bay.
