Marlins' Luarbert Arias: Removed from 40-man roster
The Marlins designated Arias for assignment Sunday.
He will give up his spot on the 40-man roster to Freddy Tarnok, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Arias surrendered 11 earned runs in 9.1 innings with Miami earlier this season and hadn't found much success since being optioned to Jacksonville on May 1, turning in a 3.21 ERA with a poor 1.71 WHIP and 5:13 K:BB in 14 innings.

Marlins' Luarbert Arias: Recalled by Miami
The Marlins recalled Arias from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
The move corresponds with Connor Gillispie being optioned to Jacksonville. Arias has an 11.37 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in 6.1 major-league innings, but he's not allowed a run in three of his four outings in the minors this season. He'll give the Marlins another right-handed option out of the bullpen.

Marlins' Luarbert Arias: Returning to Triple-A

The move makes room on the Marlins' 26-man roster for Jesus Tinoco (back), who was reinstated off the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Arias appeared in four games for Miami after being recalled from Triple-A on March 30, posting an 11.37 ERA and 2.05 WHIP across 6.1 frames. He'll look to regain his form in Jacksonville, where he logged a 3.04 ERA and 1.19 WHIP across 68 innings in 2024.
