  • Cal Stevenson: Cut loose by Philadelphia

The Phillies released Stevenson on Sunday. He lost his spot on the 40-man roster after Aaron Nola (ankle/rib) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. Stevenson was up in the big leagues for about two weeks early in the season but has otherwise spent the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, producing a .237/.368/.349 slash line to go with six home runs and 22 steals across 346 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Optioned to Lehigh Valley

The Phillies optioned Stevenson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Stevenson was promoted from Triple-A on April 20 when Brandon Marsh (hamstring) landed on the injured list and will now head back to the minors following the latter's return. During his time in the big leagues, Stevenson appeared in five games, going 2-for-8 with an RBI. He'd be the likely choice to return to the majors if the Phillies' outfield depth is tested again later in the year.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Joins big-league club

The Phillies recalled Stevenson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. The 28-year-old missed out on the Opening Day roster but is up with Philadelphia on Sunday as Brandon Marsh (hamstring) lands on the injured list. Stevenson had a .708 OPS in 18 games across a couple regular-season stints with the Phillies last season, and he isn't likely to have a significant role while up in the majors this time around.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Optioned to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Stevenson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday. Stevenson will end the spring with a .179/.313/.333 slash line to go along with 19 strikeouts in 39 at-bats. He'll look to get back on track in the minors, but his career .514 OPS doesn't inspire much confidence in his ability to produce in the majors if he gets called up to Philly.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Sent down to minors

The Phillies optioned Stevenson to their spring training complex Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. With Triple-A Lehigh Valley's season over, Stevenson will report to the team's spring training facility, where he'll work out in case he's needed later on. The transaction frees a spot on the roster for the return of Austin Hays (kidney) from the injured list.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Hitting bench Wednesday

Stevenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers. Stevenson had started in each of the Phillies' last three matchups with right-handed pitchers and went 2-for-6 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Though he'll take a seat Wednesday against righty Freddy Peralta, the lefty-hitting Stevenson appears to be making a push to take over the strong side of a platoon in center field with Johan Rojas.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Sent back down

The Phillies optioned Stevenson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Stevenson was with the big club for a couple weeks while Austin Hays (hamstring) was sidelined. Hays is now back, so Stevenson is being sent down to make room for him.

  • Phillies' Cal Stevenson: Contract selected by Philly

The Phillies selected Stevenson's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Giants in late May but was designated for assignment before receiving a look in the big leagues. Stevenson has spent the past two months at Lehigh Valley, where he has a .304/.419/.484 slash line with seven homers and 27 steals in 90 games. He'll provide outfield depth as Austin Hays (hamstring) heads to the injured list.

Stevenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Stevenson had started in center field in three of the past four games, going hitless across seven at-bats but drawing three walks. The Giants recalled Stevenson from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports. • Athletics' Cal Stevenson: Designated for assignment

Stevenson was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday. With Tyler Wade getting selected from Las Vegas, Stevenson will serve as the team's 40-man casualty. • Athletics' Cal Stevenson: On bench versus lefty

Stevenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. With southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the hill for Miami, the lefty-hitting Stevenson will head to the bench after going 4-for-12 with a double, a walk and an RBI while starting each of the past four games. • Athletics' Cal Stevenson: Racking up free passes

Stevenson went 0-for-3 with a pair of walks and a stolen base in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers. Making his first career start out of the leadoff spot, Stevenson did his part by drawing the pair of free passes and also put his speed on display on the bases. Though he's off to a 2-for-13 start to his big-league career, he's drawn five walks over his first five games to prop his on-base percentage up to .389. Stevenson looks like he'll continue to get steady run as Oakland's everyday center fielder.

  • Athletics' Cal Stevenson: Receives call-up to Oakland

The Athletics selected Stevenson's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday. He'll start in center field and bat ninth in his MLB debut Wednesday against the Angels. Stevenson will take over the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster spot of designated hitter Jed Lowrie, whom the Athletics designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old Stevenson was acquired from the Rays earlier in the summer in the deal that sent Christian Bethancourt to Tampa Bay, and since joining the Oakland organization, he produced a .305/.417/.542 slash line with three home runs and six stolen bases over 72 plate appearances at Triple-A. The lefty-hitting Stevenson has played all three outfield spots in the minors this season and could get a look as an everyday player in his first taste of the big leagues, though the Athletics will likely try to limit his exposure to southpaws.
