Thomas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Hits first homer since Aug. 4
Thomas went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer during Arizona's 5-2 extra-inning win over Minnesota on Saturday.
Thomas hadn't hit a home run since Aug. 4, but he gave the Diamondbacks the early lead with a two-run shot in the fourth. The 25-year-old outfielder has nine home runs this season, which ties his career high from the 2023 campaign. Thomas has struggled at the plate over his last 15 games, having gone 5-for-33 (.152) over that span.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Bowing out of starting nine
Thomas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
The left-handed-hitting Thomas had been included in the lineup in each of the Diamondbacks' last three matchups versus left-handed starting pitchers, but he'll take a seat Monday as the Rangers send southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump. Blaze Alexander has been seeing most of his playing time at third base and second base of late but will cover center field in place of Thomas in the series opener.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Getting breather Saturday
Thomas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
An 0-for-4 performance Friday snapped what had been a three-game multi-hit streak for Thomas, and the D-backs will now get him some rest against Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers. Jake McCarthy will fill the void in center field and bat seventh.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Knocks in two runs in win
Thomas went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
Thomas was part of a productive lower third of the order that drove in all six of Arizona's runs. His third-inning single off Jose Quintana delivered the team's final two runs and held up as the game-winning knock. Those were his first RBI in nine contests. Thomas doesn't usually start against left-handers, but the center fielder found himself in the starting nine for a second straight game against a southpaw.

The Arizona outfielder notched his fifth three-hit performance of the season, and he also swiped his sixth base. Thomas has been filling an everyday role for the Diamondbacks since Aug. 1, hitting .298 (17-for-57) with two homers, two doubles, six runs scored and six RBI across 15 games this month. Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Taking seat Wednesday
Thomas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
The left-handed-hitting Thomas will get a rare day off against a righty (Chris Paddack) while the Diamondbacks clear room in the lineup for Jorge Barrosa, who will occupy center field in the series finale. Thomas started in both of the first two games of the series, going 1-for-6 with a solo home run and a walk.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Provides lone run in loss
Thomas went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Tigers.
Thomas' eighth-inning blast ended a 25-inning scoreless streak for the Diamondbacks, who have scored just two runs over the last four games. It was his sixth homer of the season and first since July 2. Arizona is a seller heading into the trade deadline, and Thomas could be an attractive piece with three years of control beyond 2025. Any trade activity that doesn't involve Thomas is not expected to impact his playing; he should remain the team's primary center fielder against right-handed starters.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Back in action Wednesday
Thomas (knee) will start in center field and bat ninth Wednesday against the Padres.
Thomas was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 1-0 loss to San Diego due to a sore right knee, though he still managed to get into the game as a pinch hitter. He'll return to the starting nine Wednesday and aim to turn things around after starting July by going 3-for-20 with eight strikeouts.

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Scratched from lineup
Thomas was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against San Diego due to right knee soreness, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
The D-backs are labeling Thomas as day-to-day, so a trip to the injured list doesn't seem imminent at the moment. He'll take Tuesday off to recover while Jake McCarthy moves to center field and Randal Grichuk enters the lineup as Arizona's DH.
