Rangers' Josh Stowers: Traded to Texas
Stowers was traded from the Yankees to the Rangers on Tuesday along with Antonio Cabello in exchange for Rougned Odor and cash.
A 24-year-old outfielder who was the No. 54 overall pick in 2018 by the Mariners, Stowers was dealt to New York in January of 2019 as part of the three-way trade that sent Sonny Gray to the Reds and Shed Long to the Mariners. He has yet to play above Low-A, with the pandemic costing him valuable developmental time. Stowers will need to be added to the 40-man roster this season if the Rangers want to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, so they may give him an aggressive assignment to see if he sinks or swims.

Yankees' Josh Stowers: Power binge in Low-A
Stowers has slashed .385/.429/.923 with four homers over his last six games for Low-A Charleston.
Stowers has his power stroke working for the RiverDogs as he slugged four long balls over a three-game period last week after hitting just one on the season prior to that stretch. The hot hitting has boosted the 22-year-old outfielder's slash line up to .287/.376/.465 through 157 at-bats in the South Atlantic League, and he's also stolen 13 bases in 18 attempts.

Yankees' Josh Stowers: Shipped to Yankees
Stowers and a competitive balance pick we're traded to the Yankees on Monday as part of a three-team deal that sent Sonny Gray and Reiver Sanmartin to the Reds and Shed Long to the Mariners, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Stowers was selected with the 54th pick in the 2018 first-year player draft. The 21-year-old held his own in his first taste of professional ball, slashing .260/.380/.410 with five homers and 20 stolen bases in 58 games for short-season Everett. Look for the speedy outfielder to return to the lower minors in 2019 to continue his development.
