Tigers' Parker Meadows: Could begin rehab soon
Meadows (quad) has been running, hitting and throwing regularly, and a rehab assignment could be on tap soon, MLB.com reports.
Meadows has been out since July 28 due to a right quadriceps strain. The outfielder seems to be progressing in his recovery, and the expectation is that he'll be back with the Tigers this month. While Meadows is only batting .200 on the year, he does provide strong defense in center, and Detroit could use the reinforcement with Matt Vierling (oblique) likely out until September and possibly set to miss the rest of the regular season.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Begins running progression
Meadows (quad) has begun a running progression, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Meadows is just over a week removed from landing on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain, so it's a good sign that he's already been cleared to run. It's still too soon to project when he might be able to return to the Tigers' active roster, however. Matt Vierling has been seeing most of the action in center field for Detroit since Meadows was injured.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Hits IL with quad strain
The Tigers placed Meadows on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a right quadriceps strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Meadows may have tweaked his quad during the Tigers' 10-4 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday, when he was lifted in the eighth inning after going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. He's eligible for reinstatement Aug. 8, but he'll undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury before the Tigers provide a clearer timeline for his return. Matt Vierling will start in center field in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks and could be the main beneficiary from a playing-time standpoint while Meadows is on the shelf.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Scores twice Sunday
Meadows went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Blue Jays.
It's been a struggle this season for Meadows, who is batting just .200 with a .566 OPS through 38 games, but he flashed some of his upside Sunday. He was ultimately lifted for a pinch hitter when Toronto turned to lefty reliever Justin Bruihl, and Meadows' vulnerability against southpaws limits his fantasy ceiling. However, the 25-year-old plays great defense in center field and should still start most days for Detroit, at least against righties.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Not in Saturday's lineup
Meadows isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Meadows will grab a seat against right-hander Kevin Gausman after going 1-for-3 with a strikeout during Friday's victory. Matt Vierling will start in center field instead while batting fifth.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Sitting down Saturday
Meadows isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.
Meadows has collected a base hit in each of his last three games, though he's also struck out six times in 12 at-bats while doing so. He'll retreat to the bench Saturday while Matt Vierling starts in center field, batting seventh.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Tallies two hits Thursday
Meadows went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 11-7 loss to the Nationals.
Meadows has started to get going after a belated start to his season due to a nerve issue in his right arm. The outfielder is batting just .202 overall, but he's upped that to .281 (9-for-32) over his last 10 games. Meadows continues to provide strong defense in center, which keeps him in the starting lineup most days, and he can provide a good mix of power and speed when he's at his best offensively. The 25-year-old does regularly sit against lefties, however, which limits his fantasy upside to a degree,

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Idle for second game of day
Meadows is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Nationals.
With a tough lefty (MacKenzie Gore) taking the hill for the Nationals, the left-handed-hitting Meadows will give way to Matt Vierling in center field in the nightcap. Meadows started in the Tigers' 11-2 win in the first game of the day, finishing 1-for-5 with three strikeouts.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Sitting Saturday
Meadows is not in the Tigers' starting lineup against the Twins on Saturday.
Meadows will take a seat while the returning Matt Vierling (shoulder) starts in center field and bats seventh. Meadows has struggled at the plate since making his 2025 debut in early June but has been better as of late, going 7-for-27 (.259) with five runs scored, one home run and four RBI over his last eight games.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Tallies two hits Thursday
Meadows went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Thursday's 8-0 win over the Athletics.
Meadows is slowly starting to get his bat going, as he now has a hit in six of his last seven games. This was his first multi-hit effort since his season debut back on June 2, and he's still batting just .191 overall, but Meadows should continue to see regular playing time as a plus defender in center field. If the 25-year-old can continue to make consistent contact, he has some power and speed potential that could be appealing to fantasy managers.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Hits second home run
Meadows went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Rays
Meadows was bumped down in the batting order against righties recently due to some struggles at the plate, but he responded with a big home run Sunday, just his second of the season. While the 25-year-old is still batting only .172 with a .607 OPS, the Tigers seem committed to him in center field, largely due to his defensive abilities. Meadows remains inconsistent from a fantasy perspective, though he still has plenty of potential, as he's yet to reach 140 total games at the MLB level in his short career.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Bumped down in batting order
Meadows will start in center field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Meadows had served as the Tigers' leadoff man against right-handed pitching since coming off the IL on June 2, but he appears to have ceded those duties to Colt Keith. Meadows has occupied a spot in the bottom third of the order in each of his last three starts versus righties, and he'll likely need to show some improvement at the dish before manager A.J. Hinch considers moving him back up in the lineup. The center fielder has mustered a woeful .167/.262/.296 slash line with one home run and two steals over 61 plate appearances.

Meadows will take the evening off after going 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs in Game 1. Zach McKinstry, Wenceel Perez and Kerry Carpenter will start across Detroit's outfield with Meadows on the bench.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Hits first 2025 home run
Meadows went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Orioles.
Meadows hit his first home run of the season in the fourth inning with two runners on, and it ended up being the difference in the contest. The young outfielder has now played 10 games since returning from the injured list and is batting just .171, though the team seems committed to letting him work off the rust. Meadows batted ninth Thursday as Baltimore opened with lefty Keegan Akin but will likely hit leadoff most days against righties, which boosts his fantasy ceiling.

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Back in leadoff spot
Meadows is starting in center field and batting first in Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Meadows slid down to No. 9 in the order Tuesday with Baltimore starting lefty Cade Povich, but he's back in the leadoff spot against righty Zach Eflin. The outfielder, who missed the first 60 games of the year while recovering from a nerve issue in his throwing arm, has gotten off to a bit of a slow start with a .185/.313/.296 slash line, though the Tigers seem committed to him as a fixture at the top of their lineup against righties.
