Brewers' Trevor Megill: Opening Game 5
Megill will open Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cubs on Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The Brewers have allowed the Cubs to score in the first inning of all four games in the series so far, so manager Pat Murphy will send his All-Star closer to the mound to try to break that trend in the series finale. After Megill is pulled from the game, Jacob Misiorowski is expected to pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Good to go for NLDS
Megill (elbow) will be available for the NLDS after bouncing back from his relief outing Sunday versus the Reds with normal soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Megill struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 inning against the Reds in what was his first appearance since he landed on the 15-day injured list in late August with a right elbow flexor strain. The 31-year-old Megill notched 30 saves as the Brewers' primary closer this season, and he could return to the ninth-inning role now that he's deemed healthy. However, Abner Uribe also pitched well as the team's closer while Megill was injured, so manager Pat Murphy could consider either pitcher for save chances during the NLDS against the Cubs.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Pockets win in return
Megill (6-3) picked up the win in Sunday's contest against Cincinnati, pitching a clean inning with two strikeouts.
The Milwaukee right-hander was activated from the injured list prior to this game after being out since Aug. 27 due to a right elbow issue. Megill saw action in the fourth inning, retiring all three batters he faced succinctly on 12 pitches. Abner Uribe, who filled in as closer while Megill he was out, tallied the save later in the contest, as it remains to be seen how the Brewers will leverage their stalwart relievers throughout the playoffs. Megill wraps his regular season with a 2.49 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:17 K:BB across 47 total frames while converting 30 of 36 save chances and appearing in his first All-Star game.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Officially activated
The Brewers reinstated Megill (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.
As expected, Megill will join the 28-man active roster for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Reds. Megill had been sidelined since Aug. 24 due to a right flexor strain, so the Brewers are likely to have him make an appearance in Sunday's contest in order to shake off some rust before the NLDS. Before landing on the shelf, Megill had been serving as the Brewers' closer and posted a 2.54 ERA and 30 saves over 46 innings.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Likely to return Sunday
Megill (elbow) threw a simulated inning Friday and is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list to pitch in Sunday's regular-season finale, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Megill threw a bullpen Tuesday and faced batters Friday, completing both sessions without a hitch. He's set up to come off the injured list to make an appearance in Sunday's contest, knocking off some rust before the NLDS, which begins Oct. 4. Megill hasn't appeared in a game since Aug. 24 due to a right flexor strain.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Facing hitters Friday
Megill (elbow) had a successful multi-inning bullpen session Tuesday and is slated to face hitters Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
If things go well Friday, Megill appears in line to be activated from the 15-day injured list for the final game of the regular season Sunday versus the Reds. He would make an appearance that day as he gears up for the postseason. Megill has missed all of September with a right flexor strain.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Hoping to return Sunday
The Brewers are hopeful Megill (elbow) will be activated from the 15-day injured list Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Megill has not had a smooth recovery from a right flexor strain that's kept him out all of September. He'll try throwing off the mound again Tuesday, though, with a 25-to-30 pitch, two "up" bullpen session. If that goes well, Megill could make it back for one appearance on the final day of the regular season as he tests out his readiness for the playoffs.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Likely won't return until playoffs
Manager Pat Murphy said Sunday that the best case scenario for Megill (elbow) is to return for Milwaukee's regular-season finale Sept. 28 against Cincinnati, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The best-case timeline, according to Murphy, would mean Megill would throw a bullpen Tuesday and live batting practice Friday. The timeline could be adjusted based on how the right-hander recovers from the throwing sessions, but that would mean he wouldn't return until the postseason. The Brewers are tracking toward a top-two seed in the NL, which would allow them to bypass the wild-card round and give Megill extra time to get healthy.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Will be reevaluated due to soreness
Megill (elbow) will be reevaluated Tuesday after feeling soreness following a live batting practice session, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Megill felt soreness in his pitching elbow after a bullpen session last week as well. Despite that setback, he was cleared to faced hitters, but given the lingering issues, his return doesn't appear imminent. Abner Uribe has recorded three saves since Megill's last appearance in late August, with Jared Koenig and Aaron Ashby also picking up one each.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Hits minor snag in recovery
Megill (elbow) didn't recover as well as anticipated after his most recent bullpen session but will throw another bullpen Saturday before facing possibly batters next week, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Megill has been working his way back from a right flexor strain, and while he didn't recover as well as he hoped, his timeline for return doesn't seem to have changed much. His initial plan was to return Tuesday, but a return later next week seems more likely given his tentatively scheduled live BP session.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Throws live batting practice
Megill (elbow) threw a successful live batting practice session Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
It was the first time Megill faced hitters since he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right flexor strain in late August. He could thrown one more live batting practice session before being sent out on a rehab assignment. Megill is aiming to be activated from the 15-day injured list next Tuesday, and thus far, he seems on track to achieve that goal.
