  • Cardinals' Tai Peete: Back on IL at High-A

Peete (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria on Friday. Peete just returned from a week-long absence Wednesday and lasted only one game before going back on the IL. It's unclear whether this is an aggravation of his previous injury or something new. Peete was acquired from the Mariners over the offseason in the Brendan Donovan trade.

  • Cardinals' Tai Peete: Back in action at High-A

Peete (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria on Wednesday. Peete needed just a minimum 7-day absence while nursing an undisclosed injury. The 20-year-old outfielder is sporting a .272/.350/.528 batting line with five home runs, five stolen bases and a 15:44 BB:K over 29 contests with Peoria this season.

  • Cardinals' Tai Peete: Goes on 7-day IL at High-A

Peete was placed on the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. Per Redbird Farmhands, Peete appeared to hurt his hand on a stolen base during Peoria's game Tuesday. The young outfielder had been in Peoria's initial lineup Wednesday before the IL move was made, so his absence should be brief. Acquired over the offseason from the Mariners in the Brendan Donovan trade, Peete has offered a mixed bag at Peoria this season, slashing .276/.355/.537 with five homers and five steals but also a 31.9 percent strikeout rate.

  • Cardinals' Tai Peete: Hits for cycle in High-A game

Peete hit for the cycle in High-A Peoria's win over Wisconsin on Thursday. Peete actually had only one hit (a double) entering the seventh inning, but he was part of an offensive explosion late in the game and completed his cycle in the ninth with a triple. Acquired from the Mariners over the offseason in the Brendan Donovan trade, Peete is slashing .256/.360/.605 with three home runs and one stolen base in his first 10 contests with Peoria. The 20-year-old has a 26.0 percent strikeout rate, which is high but is down from last year's 30.6 percent mark. Making enough contact will likely be the determining factor in whether Peete reaches his high ceiling.

  • Cardinals' Tai Peete: Traded to St. Louis

The Cardinals acquired Peete from the Mariners on Monday as part of a three-team trade involving the Rays, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. Peete, Jurrangelo Cijntje and Colton Ledbetter will head to St. Louis while Ben Williamson is shipped off to Tampa Bay and the headliner of the trade, Brendan Donovan, goes to Seattle. Peete was selected by the Mariners with the 30th pick of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and spent the entire 2025 season with High-A Everett, where he slashed .213/.285/.401 with 25 steals (in 36 attempts) and 19 home runs in 530 plate appearances. Peete, a former shortstop, is now a quality defensive center fielder with power and speed, and he won't turn 21 until August.

  • Mariners' Tai Peete: Flirting with 20/20 season

Peete is slashing .216/.284/.403 with 18 home runs and 25 steals in 121 games for High-A Everett. Peete, who is playing his first full season in center field, is flirting with a 20/20 season at High-A in his age-19 season (he turned 20 in August). While he has been well below league average (77 wRC+), he has still shown reason to be patient in deeper dynasty leagues. His .283 BABIP is partially to blame for his mediocre slash line, and he encouragingly logged career-high flyball (39.1 percent) and pull (50.2 percent) rates for the AquaSox. Peete will presumably head back to High-A in 2026 with a chance to spend most of the year at Double-A if he can trim this year's 30.9 percent strikeout rate.
