  • Phillies' Jesus Luzardo: Hit with tough-luck loss

Luzardo was saddled with the loss in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Dodgers on Monday after allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five across six innings.

Luzardo dealt with traffic in the first inning, surrendering a hit and a walk, but he managed to escape without giving up a run. He would proceed to fire four perfect innings, striking out four along the way. Luzardo again found trouble in the top of the seventh, giving up a pair of base knocks before being lifted from the game. Both of those runners would score later in the inning, holding Luzardo accountable for the loss. The southpaw is unlikely to be available for a start until Game 5, though it's possible he could eat an inning later in the week in LA.

  • Phillies' Jesus Luzardo: Cruises to revenge win

Luzardo (15-7) picked up the win in Wednesday's 11-1 rout of the Marlins, allowing one unearned run on three hits over seven innings. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.

Facing the team that traded him back in December, Luzardo recorded his career-high 18th quality start of the season and seventh double-digit strikeout performance, fueling a career-high 216 in that category that has him tied for the NL lead with Paul Skenes and Logan Webb, although Webb is scheduled for one more start this weekend. With the Phillies having already clinched the NL East title and all but locked into a first-round bye in the playoffs, Luzardo will close out his regular season with a 3.92 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 216:57 K:BB over 183.2 innings.

  • Phillies' Jesus Luzardo: Outdueled in Los Angeles

Luzardo (14-7) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over seven innings.

Luzardo was pretty good in the outing, and he appeared to have a quality start in the bag after tossing seven innings of three-run ball. However, he was allowed to face one final batter -- Shohei Ohtani -- to begin the eighth, and Ohtani took him deep to make the score 4-0. Luzardo did rack up a whopping 19 whiffs, though opposing starter Blake Snell outshined him with 24 whiffs and seven scoreless frames. Luzardo likely has one more regular-season start on tap, which is slated to come at home against Miami next week.

  • Phillies' Jesus Luzardo: Locks in after rough start

Luzardo (14-6) earned the win Thursday against the Mets, allowing four runs on five hits and no walks in eight innings. He struck out 10.

It looked as though Luzardo was on his way to a quick hook as New York tagged him for four runs on five hits in the opening inning, but the hurler experienced a remarkable turnaround. Luzardo proceeded to pitch seven perfect innings from that point on, fanning double-digit batters for the sixth time this season in his longest appearance of the campaign. A tough test against the Dodgers awaits the southpaw in his next scheduled start. Through 169.2 innings, Luzardo has a 4.03 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 200:56 K:BB.

  • Phillies' Jesus Luzardo: Registers 13th victory

Luzardo (13-6) earned the win over Miami on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Though Luzardo issued four free passes, none of the batters he walked came around to score. During that stretch, Luzardo has posted a 2.64 ERA with a 54:13 K:BB over 47.2 innings. That's brought his season ERA down to 4.01 as he seeks to finish below the 4.00 mark for the third time in his past four campaigns.

Luzardo allowed two hits and one walk while striking out seven over 6.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.

Luzardo alternated between good and mediocre in August, but he was able to finish the month on a high note. Philadelphia couldn't maintain a 1-0 lead after Luzardo's exit, costing him the chance to earn his fourth win of the month. He gave up 12 runs over 34.2 innings while posting a 42:8 K:BB, turning things around in a big way after a much more shaky July. He's now at a 4.05 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 182:52 K:BB through 155.2 innings over 28 starts this season. The left-hander is lined up to make his next start on the road in Miami.

Luzardo has a 4.23 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 175:51 K:BB over 149 innings, and he's next set to take the ball against an Atlanta team that's slugging a pitiful .333 versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of August.
