  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Plates two in win

Rogers went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-0 victory over the Royals. The Detroit backstop started his 34th game of the season and drove home two with his sixth career triple in the fifth inning. Rogers is not a viable fantasy option while he is the clear backup to Dillon Dingler. Through 123 total plate appearances, the 30-year-old is now slashing .200/.295/.362 with 18 RBI and 14 runs scored.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Drives in two in win

Rogers went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Royals. Picking up a start in place of Dillon Dingler, Rogers managed his third double of the season and collected his 15th and 16th RBI. It's been a struggle for the veteran catcher, who is slashing just .182/.278/.323 overall. The drop in power is noticeable, as Rogers had a .444 slugging percentage back in 2023, when he also smashed a career-high 21 home runs. The 30-year-old has had to settle for a backup role behind Dingler as his production has fallen off.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Blasts off Wednesday

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks. Rogers started the Wednesday matinee, giving Dillon Dingler a day off, and the former delivered his third home run of the season. While it's been a struggle for Rogers overall in 2025, he's at least showing some signs of life lately with at least one hit in his last three starts and two homers over that span. The catcher did slug 21 home runs as recently as 2023, so the power potential is there, but Rogers should remain firmly behind Dingler on Detroit's depth chart.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Leads offense Saturday

Rogers went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays. Rogers had the only two hits for Detroit and scored the team's lone run despite hitting in the nine spot in the lineup. It was the catcher's first multi-hit performance since June 13 and just his third of the year. This season has been a struggle for Rogers, who's slashing .184/.292/.316, and he's clearly fallen behind Dillon Dingler on the Tigers' depth chart.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Goes deep Tuesday

Rogers went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Pirates. With Dillon Dingler getting a breather, Rogers got the start and managed to pop his second home run of the season. It's been a struggle for Rogers, who is batting just .167 with a .588 OPS in 29 games this year. Dingler has been much more productive with a .267 average and .727 OPS, which has relegated Rogers to a bench role and greatly diminished his fantasy value.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Starting Wednesday

Rogers is starting at catcher and batting eighth in Wednesday's game against the Orioles. With Dillon Dingler getting a breather following two straight starts, Rogers will slide into Wednesday's lineup. The latter is struggling at the plate this season with a .139/.244/.194 slash line and no home runs, making him an unattractive fantasy option while Dingler continues to see the bulk of the starts at catcher.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Out again Saturday

Rogers is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals. Rogers has clearly fallen behind Dillon Dingler as Detroit's top catching option, with the latter starting for the fifth time in six days Saturday. Dingler, who is sporting a .794 OPS, took advantage of Rogers missing about six weeks with an oblique strain to emerge as a viable offensive threat and a regular starter. By comparison, Rogers has just a .449 OPS, which should keep him entrenched as the backup for the time being.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Serving as No. 2 catcher

Rogers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Rogers has operated as the Tigers' clear No. 2 catcher. He's started just two of the Tigers' last six games, with Dillon Dingler behind the dish for the other four games.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Activated from 10-day IL

The Tigers activated Rogers (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Rogers missed six weeks with a strained oblique but is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals, catching for Tarik Skubal. With Rogers reinstated, Detroit designated Tomas Nido for assignment. Rogers and Dillon Dingler are likely to share time behind the plate moving forward.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Will be activated Tuesday

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Rogers (oblique) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in St. Louis, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Rogers has been sidelined since early April with a left oblique strain but is ready to go after playing in four rehab games with Triple-A Toledo. Dillon Dingler has played well since Rogers landed on the shelf, and the two catchers will likely split playing time behind the dish fairly evenly.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Beginning rehab assignment

Rogers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Rogers has been shelved for more than a month with a left oblique strain, but he's been upping his workouts lately and is ready to try things out in games. The veteran catcher should be ready to rejoin the Tigers' active roster within the next week or so.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Plays catch Monday

Rogers (oblique) played catch at Comerica Park on Monday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Rogers tossed the ball around with fellow rehabber Austin Meadows (shoulder), who just recently began a throwing program. The catcher is expected to be out until early May as he recovers from a left oblique strain.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Oblique strain forces IL stint

The Tigers placed Rogers on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left oblique strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports. Rogers tweaked his oblique in the batting cage Tuesday and the team has opted to go ahead and place him on the IL. He will be eligible to return April 18, but it's too soon to know whether Rogers might be activated at that time. Thomas Nido was called up from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move and will serve as Detroit's No. 2 catcher while Dillon Dingler takes over as the team's primary backstop.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Scratched with oblique injury

Rogers was scratched from Tuesday's lineup versus the Yankees due to left oblique tightness, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Oblique injuries often lead to stints on the injured list, although it's not yet clear whether Rogers' is serious enough to warrant a trip to the IL. Dillon Dingler has replaced him in the lineup and would be in line for an uptick in playing time should Rogers miss additional time.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Resting Monday

Rogers is not in the Tigers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Monday. Rogers will get a rest Monday while Dillon Dingler starts behind home playe and bats seventh against Mariners right-hander Emerson Hancock. Rogers has gone 2-for-7 with a triple and one run across his first two outings of the 2025 season.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Settles at $2.64 million

The Tigers and Rogers avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.64 million contract Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Rogers had been arbitration-eligible for a second time. The catcher slashed a disappointing .197/.255/.352 with 10 home runs in 2024, but he remains a trusted receiver and is slated to open 2025 at the top of the Tigers' catching depth chart.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Getting Saturday off

Rogers isn't in Detroit's lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox. After going 1-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's win, Rogers will turn catching duties over to Dillon Dingler for the penultimate game of the regular season.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Getting day off

Rogers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays. Rogers will get a breather after he started behind the dish both of the past two games. Dillon Dingler will step in as the Tigers' catcher, forming a battery with right-hander Keider Montero.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Sitting down Saturday

Rogers isn't in Detroit's lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. After striking out in all three of his at-bats during Friday's series opener, Rogers will take a seat Saturday while Dillon Dingler catches for Reese Olson, batting eighth.

  • Tigers' Jake Rogers: Out of Detroit lineup

Rogers is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Kansas City. Rogers has received the lion's share of starts at catcher for the hard-charging Tigers of late, but he'll begin this one on the bench. Dillon Dingler will be behind the dish for Detroit.
