Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Converts fourth save
Dreyer struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Giants.
Tanner Scott had a 23-pitch appearance Friday and was presumably unavailable for Saturday's game. The Dodgers had to dig deep in this game, with Alex Vesia also not pitching and Kirby Yates being deployed in the seventh inning, leading to Dreyer getting a rare chance to close a game out. He's up to four saves this season and has added 10 holds over 64 appearances. He's also pitched to a 2.80 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 72:22 K:BB through 74 innings, and he's allowed just two runs with an 11:1 K:BB over eight innings in September.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Picks up third save
Dreyer earned the save in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Orioles, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
The Dodgers came into the day with a depleted bullpen, thus setting up Dreyer for the save chance. The 26-year-old left-hander preserved a three-run lead, picking up his third save this season, and his first since Aug 15. Dreyer has turned in five straight scoreless innings, striking out eight in that span. Overall, his ERA sits at 2.74 with a 1.06 WHIP and 65 strikeouts across 69 innings this season.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Snags save Friday
Dreyer retired the lone batter he faced to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Padres.
Alexis Diaz put a runner on and got two outs in the ninth inning, but Dreyer finished off the game by getting Ryan O'Hearn on a flyout. All of the Dodgers' other top closing candidates had pitched in the seventh and eighth frames, allowing Dreyer to collect his second save of the season. He's added nine holds while maintaining a 2.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 54:20 K:BB over 59.1 innings. The Dodgers' bullpen is a full-blown closer committee currently and will likely stay that way until Tanner Scott (elbow) or Kirby Yates (back) can return.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Tallies one-out save
Dreyer recorded one out to pick up the save in Monday's 5-2 win at Cincinnati.
After veteran right-hander Blake Treinen struggled with a four-run lead, allowing one run on two hits and two walks, Dreyer relieved him and entered with the bases loaded. The rookie southpaw induced a Matt McLain groundout on his third pitch to notch his first big-league save. This save marks an anomaly for Dreyer, who is unlikely to garner many future save chances. The 26-year-old has pitched to a 2.91 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 51:20 K:BB across 52.2 frames this season.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Will open in Colorado on Tuesday
Dreyer will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher Tuesday in Colorado, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Justin Wrobleski is a good bet to absorb most of the innings as a bulk reliever, although manager Dave Roberts isn't divulging those plans. Dreyer holds a 3.18 ERA and 39:15 K:BB over 39.2 innings covering four opener assignments and 26 relief outings this season.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Opening Tuesday's contest
Dreyer will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game versus the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Dreyer will draw his fourth opener assignment this season, after he previously allowed a total of four runs over 5.1 innings across his first three times opening a game. The southpaw hasn't been used out of the bullpen since last Wednesday and should be capable of giving the Dodgers anywhere between one and three innings before he exits the contest. Right-hander Matt Sauer is a good bet to serve as a bulk reliever for the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Takes loss as opener
Dreyer (2-2) tossed two innings in a loss against Arizona on Monday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out one batter.
Dreyer worked as an opener in front of Landon Knack and fell behind quickly, giving up two runs in the first frame. Those runs weren't entirely his fault -- Hyeseong Kim lost sight of a very catchable flyball in center field that dropped for a gift double -- but Dreyer gave up another run in the third and had his streak of five straight scoreless outings snapped. Dreyer has made three starts as an opener this season along with coming out of the bullpen 16 times, and overall he has a 3.38 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB over 26.2 innings.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Will be opening pitcher Monday
Dreyer will serve as the opening pitcher in Monday's tilt versus the Diamondbacks, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.
Dreyer has thrown as many as three innings in an appearance this season and went two frames his last time out versus the Angels, so he could offer more length than your typical opener. Landon Knack is slated to eat the bulk of the innings as the Dodgers' primary pitcher in the series opener.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Serving as opener Monday
Dreyer will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher in Monday's game against the Marlins, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Ben Casparius is expected to eat the bulk of the innings in relief, but he'll be preceded by Dreyer. The left-handed Dreyer has been excellent on the whole this season but has struggled lately, allowing six runs over his last four appearances.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Mows down Phillies in relief
Dreyer struck out four while allowing no hits and issuing two walks over 2.1 scoreless innings of relief in Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Phillies.
Added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster over the winter after a standout season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, the 26-year-old Dreyer continued to thrive during spring training and earned his spot in the Opening Day bullpen. He's looked strong through his five appearances thus far, most of which have come in middle relief. The lefty has allowed just one earned run and has struck out eight batters while holding opponents to an .080 average over 7.2 innings.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Shielded from Rule 5 Draft
The Dodgers added Dreyer to the 40-man roster Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Dreyer appeared in 37 games with Triple-A Oklahoma in 2024, producing a 2.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 52 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. The left-hander is just one step short of being a major-leaguer and he'll have a chance to prove himself with Los Angeles this spring in an attempt to crack the Opening Day roster.
