  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Strikes out six in three innings

Patrick did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Padres, allowing two hits and two walks across three scoreless innings. He struck out six. Patrick was deployed as a pseudo-opener Wednesday, only throwing 57 pitches, though he was certainly effective in the role. In his last four appearances, including two starts, Patrick has allowed just two runs across 9.1 innings while punching out 13. Overall, the rookie right-hander sports a 3.56 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 125:39 K:BB across 118.2 innings this season.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Fans three in no-decision

Patrick yielded two runs on five hits and no walks over 4.1 innings with three strikeouts and took a no-decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning victory at St. Louis. Patrick reentered the Milwaukee rotation because Jose Quintana (calf) recently landed on the injured list. The rookie right-hander was fairly effective during his time on the mound, as he didn't give up any extra-base hits. The two runs Patrick allowed came on RBI singles by Nolan Arenado and Brendan Donovan. The 27-year-old now sports a 3.66 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 119:37 K:BB across 115.2 total innings. Patrick currently projects to make his next start at home against the Reds next weekend.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Filling Quintana's rotation spot

Patrick is slated to start Saturday's game in St. Louis, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports. Since making a 4.1-inning spot start versus the Rangers back on Sept. 10, Patrick has shifted back to the bullpen. After striking out four batters across a pair of scoreless innings Sunday versus the Cardinals and Tuesday versus the Angels, Patrick will step back into the rotation this weekend as a replacement to Jose Quintana (calf), who was placed on the injured list. Though Patrick has mostly been outside of the big-league rotation since the All-Star break, he's been effective over his 24 outings (21 starts) for Milwaukee in 2025, logging a 3.64 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 116:37 K:BB across 111.1 innings.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: No-decision in spot start

Patrick didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Texas, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 4.1 innings. A game-tying two-run home run by Michael Helman with one out in the fifth inning ended Patrick's start, as he was pulled at 80 pitches following the long ball. The 27-year-old was relegated to Triple-A in early July, but he's been called up to make three starts for the Brewers since, tallying a 4.91 ERA and a 17:7 K:BB across 14.2 innings during that stretch. He's expected to return to Triple-A Nashville without making another big-league start.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Tapped for Tuesday's start

Patrick will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Patrick is no stranger to starting in the big leagues this season, and he's posted a 3.10 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 21 strikeouts over his last four outings with the Brewers dating back to June 29. The right-hander appears to be in line for a spot start during a busy period in the schedule for the Brewers, so Patrick may not be guaranteed any turns through the rotation after Tuesday.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Strikes out seven

Patrick did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven. Patrick was impressive overall Sunday, logging seven strikeouts while holding San Francisco to just two runs on a Luis Matos homer in the second inning. The 27-year-old Patrick sports a 3.60 ERA this season with a 1.30 WHIP and 106:34 K:BB. Despite the strong outing from the right-hander, it remains to be seen whether the Brewers will stick with a six-man rotation. If not, Patrick will likely head back to Triple-A.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Called up to start Sunday

The Brewers recalled Patrick from Triple-A Nashville to start Sunday against the Giants, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The right-hander was temporarily promoted for a spot start during Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs and will rejoin the Brewers to close out the weekend series versus the Giants. Patrick took the loss in Chicago after giving up five runs (three earned), but he's mostly been an effective rotation piece during his rookie season with a 3.61 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 99:32 K:BB over 99.2 innings at the big-league level.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Game 2 postponed

Patrick will no longer start Monday after Game 2 of the Brewers' doubleheader against the Cubs was postponed due to inclement weather, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Patrick was set to appear in his first major-league contest since July 5, but he'll now have to wait another day. The contest will be made up in a split doubleheader Tuesday. Patrick will toe the rubber in Game 1 on Tuesday, while Brandon Woodruff will handle the nightcap, per Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Shines in no-decision

Patrick did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Rockies. He allowed four hits and two walks over five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. The Colorado lineup was unable to square up Patrick, as he conceded just one extra-base hit -- a double to Mickey Moniak. With this performance, the Milwaukee right-hander notched his third outing with eight or more Ks this season, producing 15 whiffs among his 99 total pitches. After pitching to an unimpressive 6.00 ERA in 21 innings across his previous four June starts, Patrick capped the month by lowering his season ERA from 3.72 to 3.51 in 89.2 total frames. The 26-year-old rookie is scheduled to face another weak opponent, the Marlins, in his next start on the road next weekend.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Allows two homers in loss

Patrick (3-6) took the loss against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over five innings. Patrick surrendered four of his five runs via the long ball in his first start this season allowing multiple homers. It was a mixed outing for the rookie, who set a career high with eight strikeouts but also saw his streak of 14 consecutive appearances with three or fewer earned runs come to an end. He'll carry a 3.25 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 71:24 K:BB across 74.2 innings into a road matchup with the Cubs next week.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Fans six in tough-luck loss

Patrick (3-5) took the loss Friday against the Padres after giving up one run on four hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out six. It was a strong performance from Patrick, who registered 11 whiffs and fanned at least six in his fourth consecutive start. Friday also marked the rookie right-hander's fifth quality start of the campaign. Brandon Woodruff (elbow) has been pulled off his rehab assignment, which appears to have bought Patrick even more more time to cement his stay in Milwaukee's rotation. Patrick will take an excellent 2.84 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 63:21 K:BB over 69.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus Atlanta.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Delivers quality start in win

Patrick (3-4) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with six strikeouts over six innings. The Brewers' offense exploded and Patrick capitalized, generating 10 whiffs on 94 pitches en route to his first win since May 6. While the 26-year-old has completed six frames just four times, he has now yielded three earned runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts this season. He'll take an impressive 2.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 57:18 K:BB across 63.2 innings into a home matchup with the Padres next weekend.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Making start Saturday

Patrick will start Saturday's game against the Phillies, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Patrick was originally expected to work in bulk relief behind Rob Zastryzny on Saturday, but the Brewers ultimately decided to use Patrick as their starter once they saw Bryce Harper (elbow) wouldn't be in Philadelphia's starting nine, per Hogg. Patrick has been a nice find for Milwaukee's rotation this season, turning in a 2.97 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 57.2 innings and most recently firing 4.2 shutout frames with six strikeouts against the Red Sox.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Slated for bulk-relief appearance

Patrick is expected to serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Rob Zastryzny in Saturday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Patrick has started in 11 of his 12 appearances on the season and owns an excellent 2.97 ERA, but he has a 2-4 record to show for it. The Brewers have typically been reluctant to let Patrick work deep into games -- he's covered five-plus innings just five times -- but working as a bulk reliever should boost his chances of coming away with a win if he ends up exiting Saturday's contest with a lead. With the Phillies typically deploying two left-handed bats (Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper or Bryson Stott) in the top three spots in the lineup, the Brewers will likely have the lefty Zastryzny pitch just one inning before he turns the game over to Patrick.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Pitches well enough for win

Patrick (2-3) got the win over the Astros on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six in 6.2 innings. Patrick was one out away from completing seven scoreless but couldn't quite seal the deal after serving up a three-run homer to Brendan Rodgers, who proved to be his final batter of the evening. The Brewers were able to hang on for a 4-3 victory, awarding Patrick his first win since April 6. The 26-year-old posted his longest outing of the season and has been a valuable fill-in for the Brewers' injury-depleted rotation. Patrick is currently slated to start next week in Cleveland but could get bumped up to pitch Sunday in Tampa Bay if the team opts to give Freddy Peralta (groin) some additional rest.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Gives up two runs in loss

Patrick (1-2) took the loss against the Cardinals on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in 4.1 innings. Patrick retired nine of the first 11 batters he faced, but his shutout efforts ended in the fourth inning on a Nolan Gorman sacrifice fly, and Patrick was tagged for another run after being lifted in the fifth. Patrick hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his five starts this season and has a 2.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 25.2 innings. Patrick is tentatively slated to start against the White Sox next week, though it's unclear whether he will get another turn in the Brewers' rotation after Tobias Myers was activated from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

  • Brewers' Chad Patrick: Goes 4.1 innings vs. Arizona

Patrick didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Diamondbacks, allowing five hits and two walks over 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three. Patrick managed to keep Arizona off the board despite dealing with baserunners in every inning. However, he'd be forced out of the game with just one out in the fifth after throwing 77 pitches. Overall, Patrick has gotten off to a strong start with the Brewers, posting a 1.76 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB through his first 15.1 innings. Patrick figures to remain in the rotation for at least one more turn with numerous Milwaukee starters dealing with injuries. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup with the A's in his next outing.

  • Athletics' Chad Patrick: Traded to Oakland

The Diamondbacks traded Patrick to the Athletics on Monday in exchange for Jace Peterson and cash considerations. Patrick has spent all season in Double-A and holds a 4.71 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 91.2 innings across 19 starts. The 24-year-old righty can strike out batters at a decent rate, but his struggles with command have impacted his ability to limit baserunners. Patrick still has a lot of work to do before he'll be able to contribute at the major-league level.
