Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Heading back to minors
The Diamondbacks optioned Hoffmann to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Hoffmann was unscored upon in his first three appearances for the Diamondbacks but was touched up for a total of five runs across his last three outings. His spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen will be absorbed by Bryce Jarvis, who was recalled from Reno.

Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Blows save Monday
Hoffmann blew the save in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Rangers. He allowed a run on two hits and no walks while striking out two over 1.2 innings.
The right-hander tossed a scoreless eighth inning but gave up a game-tying homer to Rowdy Tellez to lead off the ninth. Prior to Monday, Hoffmann had logged 2.2 scoreless frames over three appearances since being acquired by the Diamondbacks from the Royals at the trade deadline, allowing no hits and just a walk.

Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Called up by Arizona
The Diamondbacks recalled Hoffmann from Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Hoffmann will take a spot on the Diamondbacks' 26 man roster that was vacated by Kevin Ginkel, who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a sprained right shoulder. Hoffmann was acquired by the Diamondbacks from the Royals on July 26 in exchange for Randal Grichuk. Hoffmann has spent most of the season in Triple-A, where he has a 2.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 56:12 K:BB across 42 innings. He made his major-league debut for the Royals on May 30.

Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Moved to Arizona
Kansas City traded Hoffmann to the Diamondbacks in exchange for Randal Grichuk on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Hoffmann got into three major-league games with KC this season, posting a 3.86 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and 5:4 K:BB over 4.2 innings. He logged 15 starts over 29 appearances in the minors in 2024 but has been a full-time reliever this year, recording a 2.25 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 55:10 K:BB over 40 frames spanning 32 appearances with Triple-A Omaha. Per Aaron Hughes of SI.com, Hoffmann will begin his Diamondbacks tenure with Triple-A Reno.

Royals' Andrew Hoffmann: Sent to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Hoffmann to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
Hoffmann was called up by Kansas City on Friday and appeared in two games during his brief time in the majors, allowing four runs (none earned) with a 1:4 K:BB over 2.2 innings. The 25-year-old will now head back to Omaha, where he has a 2.31 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 31 outings this season.

Royals' Andrew Hoffmann: Back in bigs
The Royals recalled Hoffmann from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.
Hoffmann made his MLB debut earlier this season, allowing two runs in two innings of relief May 30. He'll take the spot of Michael Lorenzen (oblique) on the 26-man roster, although Hoffmann will work out of the bullpen rather than plugging the hole in the rotation. Hoffmann boasts a 2.31 ERA and 55:10 K:BB in 39 innings with Omaha.

Hoffmann was returned to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.
Hoffmann was optioned earlier Thursday but stuck on the roster thanks to the Royals' doubleheader against St. Louis. He didn't appear in either contest and has entered only one game in the majors in 2025.

Royals' Andrew Hoffmann: Serving as 27th man for twin bill
The Royals optioned Hoffmann to Triple-A Omaha and then added him as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.
Hoffmann will stick around with the Royals for the twin bill, but he was optioned for the purpose of opening a spot on the 26-man active roster for righty Thomas Hatch, who was called up from Triple-A. Since receiving his first MLB promotion last Wednesday, Hoffmann has made just one appearance out of the Kansas City bullpen, giving up two earned runs while striking out four batters over two innings.

Royals' Andrew Hoffmann: Set for first MLB stint
The Royals selected Hoffmann's contract from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
Hoffmann has had an excellent start to the 2025 campaign at Omaha, logging a 2.84 ERA and a 37:9 K:BB over 25.1 innings spanning 19 appearances. The 25-year-old will make his MLB debut if he gets into a game, and he should be a middle-inning arm for the Royals. Evan Sisk was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
