  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Shaky command in no-decision

Cameron allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Friday. Cameron did fine until the fifth inning, when the Athletics were able to collect four of their eight baserunners against him. A Jacob Wilson three-run double tied the game after Taylor Clarke entered the game in relief of Cameron, denying the rookie a chance to reach the 10-win mark. He ends 2025 with a 2.99 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 114:43 K:BB across 138.1 innings as well as a 9-7 record over 24 starts. While there were some bumps along the way, Cameron's pitched well enough to have an inside track for a rotation spot in 2026.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Tallies ninth win

Cameron (9-7) earned the win in Saturday's contest against the Blue Jays, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over 6.2 innings with five strikeouts. The rookie southpaw reached the double-digit mark in quality starts, as he looked sharp in this 98-pitch performance while generating a respectable 12 whiffs. The only blemish on his line was a 437-foot solo homer given up to Daulton Varsho in the seventh, which chased Cameron from the game. The Central Arkansas product has been a steady fantasy contributor in the second half, putting up a 3.53 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50:17 K:BB across 63.2 frames since the All-Star break. Cameron will look to continue his recent success in his next start, which is currently scheduled to come on the road against the Athletics next weekend.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Shaky in no-decision

Cameron allowed three runs on five hits and five walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Thursday. Cameron initially wasn't expected to pitch versus the Angels, but he got the call for Thursday after Seth Lugo (back) was placed on the injured list. Cameron has been battling fatigue recently, but with Lugo joining Cole Ragans (shoulder) and Kris Bubic (shoulder) on the injured list, Cameron will likely need to stay in the rotation in September. He's allowed four or more runs in four of his eight starts since the All-Star break. He also matched his season high in walks Thursday, which he hadn't done since his big-league debut April 30 versus the Rays. Cameron has still been positive overall with a 3.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 88:36 K:BB across 113 innings through 20 starts, but it's clear his career-high workload across all levels is taking a toll. Assuming the Royals don't build in extra rest for the 26-year-old, he is projected to make his next start on the road in Cleveland.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Won't start during Angels series

Cameron isn't listed among the Royals' starting pitchers for the team's three-game series versus the Angels that begins Tuesday, Jackson Stone of MLB.com reports. Citing fatigue, Cameron had his latest turn through the rotation skipped this past weekend against the Tigers, prompting the team to call up Stephen Kolek from Triple-A Omaha to make a spot start. Kolek has since been returned to Omaha, but the Royals look as though they'll push Cameron to the back of their pitching schedule because he's already logged 140.2 innings between the majors and minors this season, well ahead of the career-high 122.2 innings he covered in 2024. Cameron now tentatively lines up to make his next start during the Royals' weekend series versus the Twins in Kansas City.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Hit hard by White Sox

Cameron (7-6) took the loss against the White Sox on Monday, allowing six runs on eight hits with no walks or strikeouts over five innings. Cameron struggled from the outset, giving up three first-inning runs on four hits, three of which were doubles. Of the eight knocks the lefty allowed overall, six (four doubles and two homers) went for extra bases. The six earned runs Cameron allowed tied his season-worst mark -- the other time he surrendered that many runs in a start was June 10 against the Yankees. Cameron came into the contest having allowed just three runs over 15.2 frames across his previous three starts, and he'll look to rebound in his next outing, which lines up to come against Detroit on Sunday.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Mixed results in no-decision

Cameron took a no-decision Wednesday against Texas, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out five. Cameron's streak of starts of at least five innings was stopped at seven, and the three walks were his most since June 27 against the Dodgers. On a positive note, the rookie left-hander recorded 11 whiffs and registered his most strikeouts since his July 27 outing against Cleveland. Cameron will take a strong 2.53 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 83:31 K:BB over 103 frames into his next scheduled appearance, which is slated for next week in Chicago against the last-place White Sox.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Earns seventh win

Cameron (7-5) earned the win over the White Sox on Friday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings. Coming off a scoreless performance in his last outing, the left-hander kept his opponents quiet again Friday, with the only damage coming on a solo homer by Lenyn Sosa in the fourth inning. Cameron has now held opponents to one run or fewer in five of his last eight starts, a stretch in which he's gone 5-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 40 strikeouts across 46.2 innings. The rookie southpaw has emerged as a solid presence in Kansas City's rotation and will look to carry the momentum into his next turn against the Rangers.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Blanks Twins for sixth win

Cameron (6-5) earned the win against the Twins on Saturday, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 scoreless innings. Cameron kept the Twins off the board despite allowing at least two baserunners in three of the six innings he pitched in, and he was one out away from logging his eighth quality start of the season. It was the third time in his last five starts that Cameron hasn't yielded a run, and he now sports a 2.52 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 76:26 K:BB across 93 innings this season. He's earned the win in three of his last four outings, and he'll aim for his seventh victory of the season against the White Sox at home next weekend.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Tough loss against Jays

Cameron (5-5) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings as the Royals fell 4-2 to the Blue Jays. He struck out one. The rookie southpaw only gave up six singles on the afternoon, but three of them were packed into the third inning along with a walk and a hit by pitch, leading to three Toronto runs. Cameron has been up and down over the last month-plus, blanking the opposition in three of his seven starts but also getting tagged for four or more runs in three of them while posting a 3.40 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB over 39.2 innings during that stretch. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Minnesota.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Evens record at 4-4

Cameron (4-4) earned the win over the Cubs on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over six innings. Cameron gave up a pair of long balls and four totals runs in the second inning, but he wasn't scored upon in any of his five other frames. The rookie hurler tied a season-worst mark by giving up seven hits, but he still managed to give the Royals good length with six frames. Cameron also logged a healthy 12 whiffs and seven punchouts, reaching the latter mark for the third straight game. He's had a few bumpy starts, but overall Cameron has put together a very solid rookie campaign, registering a 2.61 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 65:22 K:BB through 76 innings.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Punches out eight

Cameron did not factor in the decision during Sunday's win over the Mets. He allowed seven hits and two walks over 6.2 shutout frames while striking out eight. Cameron worked around a few jams with the help of two double plays and matched his career high of eight punchouts. He generated 16 whiffs after producing 17 in his last outing; Cameron totaled just 19 swinging strikes over his previous three starts. He coughed up six runs against the Yankees on June 10 and five runs against the Dodgers on June 27, but he's given up two or fewer runs in each of his 10 outings aside from those two hiccups. Cameron owns a terrific 2.31 ERA with a 58:22 K:BB over 70 innings.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Keeps rolling

Cameron (3-4) picked up the win Monday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over seven innings. After throwing 4.2 scoreless innings in his last start, Cameron delivered his sixth quality start of the season and notched his longest outing of the campaign. The 25-year-old rookie has been fantastic this season, boasting a 2.56 ERA and a 50:20 K:BB across 63.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Mets on Sunday.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Struggles in loss

Cameron (2-4) took the loss after throwing four innings, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers. Cameron allowed just three hits, but he struggled through his shortest start of the campaign. It was a rare blip in an otherwise great season for the 25-year-old, who allowed two runs or fewer in all but one of his starts entering Friday's game. Despite the rough start, his ERA is still a highly respectable 2.78 through 51.2 innings on the season. He is set to face the Mariners on the road in his next start.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Decent in loss

Cameron (2-3) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Padres. Cameron allowed a run in each of the second and third innings, but he exited down 2-1 in the sixth. This is just the second time in eight outings he's given up multiple runs, though both of those instances have been in his last three starts. He wasn't going to be purely dominant forever, and there's little reason to be concerned about his performance, though the two strikeouts Saturday matched his season low. The 25-year-old has a 2.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 34:15 K:BB through 47.2 innings over eight starts. Cameron is tentatively projected for a tough home start versus the Dodgers in his next outing.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Remains in rotation this week

Cameron is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Yankees. Even though the Kansas City rotation is back to full strength after Cole Ragans returned from the injured list last week, Cameron will get another start while manager Matt Quatraro has seemingly opted to move forward with a six-man starting staff for at least one more turn. The 25-year-old southpaw has had an excellent start to his big-league career with an 0.85 ERA and 0.79 WHIP in 31.2 innings, though a weak 7.6 K-BB% suggests that some performance regression is likely headed his way.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Royals-Cardinals postponed

Cameron and the Royals won't play the Cardinals on Wednesday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. The two teams will play each other twice Thursday to make up for Wednesday's contest, and Cameron will get the nod for Game 1 of the doubleheader, per Anne Rogers of MLB.com. The 25-year-old southpaw has been extremely effective through his first four MLB starts, logging a 1.05 ERA and 0.82 WHIP alongside a 16:8 K:BB across 25.2 innings.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Six more innings of one-run ball

Cameron (2-1) tallied the win Wednesday against the Reds after allowing one run on six hits and two walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out two. It was notably Cameron's fourth straight start to begin his major-league career in which he fired at least six innings while yielding one run or fewer. Although the rookie left-hander conceded a season-worst six hits and fanned a season-low two, none of his six knocks went for extra bases. Cameron will take an outstanding 1.05 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB across 25.2 frames into his next scheduled outing against the Cardinals, who have an unimposing .690 OPS versus left-handed pitching in the month of May.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Continues to impress with eight Ks

Cameron didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Twins after allowing one run on four hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out eight. Cameron entered Friday with six punchouts on the season, so he more than doubled that total by fanning eight Friday. The rookie left-hander has been impressive in the major leagues so far, having fired at least six innings while giving up one run or fewer in each of his first three career starts. Cameron will tote a sparkling 0.93 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB through 19.1 innings into his next scheduled outing against the Reds, who have a .623 OPS versus left-handed pitching through their first 51 games.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Tabbed for spot start Saturday

Cameron will be called up from Triple-A Omaha to make a spot start Saturday against the Cardinals, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports. The left-hander covered 6.1 scoreless frames in his MLB debut April 30 while Cole Ragans was banged up, and a similar situation with Seth Lugo (finger) will provide an opening for Cameron to rejoin the big-league rotation Saturday. The 25-year-old may be in store for another short stay in the majors, however, since Lugo isn't expected to require a stint on the injured list. Cameron has been pitching well at Triple-A Omaha this season with a 3.31 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB across 32.2 innings.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Optioned after impressive debut

The Royals optioned Cameron to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday. Cameron took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in his major-league debut Wednesday against the Rays, ultimately tossing 6.1 scoreless frames on one hit and five walks with three strikeouts en route to picking up a win. With Cameron being sent back down to the minors, the Royals must feel good about Cole Ragans' (groin) ability to make his next start. Cameron has certainly earned the right to be first in line the next time the big club needs a starter.
