He was the third of seven pitchers the Brewers used in that contest, and while Misiorowski might not start Saturday, he's a good bet to be heavily featured. That includes his lone appearance out of the bullpen in his final outing of the regular season, during which he was charged with two runs (one earned) with a 3:3 K:BB over 2.1 frames. The Brewers aren't sure which version of Misiorowski they're going to get, but his upside warrants a spot on the NLDS roster. Misiorowski could offer Milwaukee some length in the middle of games or be used as a late-inning weapon in a spot where a strikeout is needed.

Assuming he isn't needed in Friday's series opener, Misiorowski is expected to pitch multiple innings behind opener Robert Gasser in Saturday's game against Cincinnati. Misiorowski last started Sept. 19 against the Cardinals, taking a loss after yielding two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters. The 23-year-old right-hander will likely remain in the bullpen for the postseason, especially if Jose Quintana (calf) is reinstated from the 15-day IL ahead of the NLDS.

If Misiorowski is officially moved to the bullpen, Erick Fedde could be a candidate to take his place for the final regular-season turn through the rotation, though neither of them seems likely to occupy a starting role in the postseason.
