  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Strikes out five in short outing

Misiorowski (4-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on one hit and three walks in four innings. He struck out five.

Misiorowski permitted one hit or fewer for the third time this season, but the knock was a damaging bases-clearing double by Michael Busch following three straight walks in the third inning. The Brewers continue to proceed with caution with the rookie phenom, who hasn't thrown more than four frames since his July 8 outing versus the Dodgers. The workload limitations could continue to inhibit Misiorowski's overall fantasy appeal a bit with wins at a premium. He's set to carry a 4.19 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 55:20 K:BB over 38.2 frames into a home matchup with the Diamondbacks early next week.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Records just four outs in return

Misiorowski did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-8 win over the Reds, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 1.1 innings.

Misiorowski clearly lacked command, throwing just 28 of 54 pitches for strikes and leaving the game with the bases loaded and one out in the second inning. The rookie All-Star's velocity was right in line with his season averages after missing two starts with a tibia contusion, suggesting rust more than anything else as the reason for his struggles Friday. He owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 50:17 K:BB across 34.2 innings and will look to rebound in a road matchup with the Cubs next week.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Travels with team to Cincy

Misiorowski (lower leg) traveled with the Brewers to Cincinnati and remains in the mix to start Friday against the Reds, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Misiorowski is poised to pitch Friday -- either with the Brewers or in a minor-league rehab game -- and his presence with the big club gives him a good chance to come off the IL for the series opener. If that's the case, the 24-year-old righty will be skipping a rehab assignment and will likely have some workload limitations in his first start back from a tibia contusion. Milwaukee hasn't yet officially announced its pitching plans for Friday.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Activated, starting Friday vs. Reds

The Brewers reinstated Misiorowski (lower leg) from the 15-day injured list, and he'll start Friday's game against the Reds in Cincinnati, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The rookie right-hander landed on the shelf in early August due to a tibia contusion, and he'll rejoin Milwaukee's rotation after a minimum-length stay on the injured list. In his first seven big-league starts, Misiorowski has posted a 2.70 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 47:14 K:BB across 33.1 innings. He could have a limited workload in his first start back since he's returning without a rehab assignment.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Could make abbreviated start Friday

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Misiorowski (tibia) could return from the 15-day injured list to make an abbreviated start Friday in Cincinnati, Hunter Baumgardt of 97.3 The Game reports.

A rehab start for Misiorowski on Friday is also a possibility. The Brewers have revealed their probable pitchers for Saturday (Quinn Priester) and Sunday (Jose Quintana) but are listing Friday as TBA. A decision on where Misiorowski will pitch Friday should be revealed soon. The rookie right-hander is working his way back from a left tibia contusion.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Could begin rehab assignment Friday

Misiorowski (tibia) is scheduled to throw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Misiorowski last pitched on July 28, when he took a comebacker off his shin from Seiya Suzuki. He was diagnosed with a tibia contusion, and the rookie right-hander has experienced no setbacks. Misiorowski shouldn't require more than one rehab start, so it sounds like he has a chance to rejoin the rotation next week.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Could require rehab start

General manager Matt Arnold stated Monday that the team has yet to decide whether Misiorowski (tibia) will make a rehab start before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Misiorowski was cleared to face live hitters over the weekend, firing around 60 pitches over three simulated innings. The flamethrower was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a bruised left tibia at the beginning of the month and initially believed he'd return after missing the minimum, but the Brewers appear to have no desire to rush the young hurler back. Next steps for Misiorowski should become clear later in the week.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Faces hitters Saturday

Misiorowski (tibia) threw roughly 60 pitches over three innings during a simulated game Saturday, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.

Saturday marks the first time Misiorowski has faced live hitters since he landed on the injured list Sunday with a bruised tibia. The Brewers haven't planned out next steps for the righty flamethrower, but he seems to still be on track for a return to the rotation when eligible Friday.
