Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Earns win in NLDS clincher
Misiorowski (2-0) earned the win over the Cubs in Game 5 of the NLDS on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three batters over four relief innings.
Trevor Megill started the game for the Brewers, pitching a scoreless first inning. Misiorowski then entered in the second and gave up a game-tying solo homer to the first batter he faced (Seiya Suzuki). However, Misiorowski rebounded from that long ball and was able to keep the Cubs off the scoreboard for the remainder of his four frames, throwing a total of 54 pitches (37 strikes). The rookie phenom earned the win in two of Milwaukee's three NLDS victories, allowing just one run over seven combined innings while posting a 7:2 K:BB. He could play a big role again in the team's upcoming NLCS matchup against the Dodgers.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Likely to be featured in Game 5
Misiorowski could be key to the Brewers' pitching plans in Game 5, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The Brewers have yet to announce a starter for Saturday's winner-take-all contest against the Cubs, but they are likely to go with a de facto bullpen game. Misiorowski earned the win in a bullpen game in Game 2 for Milwaukee, striking out four over three scoreless innings. He was the third of seven pitchers the Brewers used in that contest, and while Misiorowski might not start Saturday, he's a good bet to be heavily featured. The only pitcher likely to be unavailable for the Brewers in Game 5 is Freddy Peralta, who threw 84 pitches in Thursday's Game 4 loss.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Earns first postseason victory
Misiorowski secured the win after allowing one hit and two walks while striking out four across three scoreless innings during Monday's 7-3 victory in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Cubs.
Misiorowski was actually the third pitcher to be deployed by the Brewers in Game 2, but he managed to stabilize his club after Aaron Ashby gave up a three-run home run as the opener. The young flamethrower was effectively wild, throwing 32 of 57 pitches for strikes and topping out at an eye popping 104.3 mph. It wouldn't be a surprise to see skipper Pat Murphy call Misiorowski's number later in the week if the Cubs manage to extend the series given his strong performance Monday night.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Pegged for relief role in NLDS
Misiorowski is expected to be used in a relief role by the Brewers in the NLDS, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
After a brilliant start to his major-league career, Misiorowski stumbled to the finish line, posting a 6.06 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB over his final 32.2 innings. That includes his lone appearance out of the bullpen in his final outing of the regular season, during which he was charged with two runs (one earned) with a 3:3 K:BB over 2.1 frames. The Brewers aren't sure which version of Misiorowski they're going to get, but his upside warrants a spot on the NLDS roster. Misiorowski could offer Milwaukee some length in the middle of games or be used as a late-inning weapon in a spot where a strikeout is needed.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Struggles in relief Saturday
Misiorowski did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Reds, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 2.1 innings.
Misiorowski was called on with the bases loaded in the third inning and saw all three inherited runners come around before surrendering two runs of his own. After earning an All-Star nod just five starts into his career, the 23-year-old struggled down the stretch, posting a 5.36 ERA across 40.1 second-half innings. He'll close out his rookie campaign with a 4.36 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 87:31 K:BB over 66 major-league innings and is expected to stick in a bullpen role for the Brewers this postseason.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Set for relief role in final series
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Misiorowski will operate in a long-relief role out of the bullpen during the team's weekend series against the Reds, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Assuming he isn't needed in Friday's series opener, Misiorowski is expected to pitch multiple innings behind opener Robert Gasser in Saturday's game against Cincinnati. Misiorowski last started Sept. 19 against the Cardinals, taking a loss after yielding two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters. The 23-year-old right-hander will likely remain in the bullpen for the postseason, especially if Jose Quintana (calf) is reinstated from the 15-day IL ahead of the NLDS.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Early hook in loss
Misiorowski (5-3) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Cardinals.
Misiorowski got scored on in both of the first two innings and threw just 45 of 77 pitches for strikes. After the game, manager Pat Murphy told reporters the team is considering having Misiorowski pitch out of the bullpen in the final week of the regular season due to his recent struggles as a starter, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Misiorowski has given up 21 runs over 30.1 innings across seven outings since returning from a lower-leg injury, and coupled with his career-high 127 innings across all levels, it's possible the rookie right-hander is running out of steam. If Misiorowski is officially moved to the bullpen, Erick Fedde could be a candidate to take his place for the final regular-season turn through the rotation, though neither of them seems likely to occupy a starting role in the postseason.

Misiorowski did not factor into the decision in Saturday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings.
Misiorowski gave up home runs to Ivan Herrera and Brendan Donovan in the first and third innings, respectively, which made Saturday's contest just the second time Misiorowski has yielded more than one homer in a game this season. Misiorowski has yielded at least three earned runs in five of his last six starts, during which he's posted a 6.41 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 26.2 innings. He's lined up for a rematch against the Cardinals in St. Louis next weekend.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Fans eight in win
Misiorowski (5-2) allowed one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Pirates.
Misiorowski got back to his dominant ways Sunday after some recent struggles. Aside from Liover Peguero's second-inning RBI single, the Pirates did not pose much of a threat. Misiorowski set new career highs with seven innings and 108 pitches. The flamethrowing righty had given up 14 runs in 14.2 frames (8.59 ERA) in four appearances since returning from the injured list before Sunday's impressive performance. Misiorowski will carry a 4.09 ERA and a 77:24 K:BB across 55 innings into his next outing, which is expected to be at home against the Cardinals next weekend.
