  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Smacks third homer in five games

Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics.

Baldwin got Atlanta on the board with a solo homer off Aaron Civale in the first inning. Baldwin demonstrated his power potential in 2025, when he smacked 19 long balls in 446 plate appearances in the regular season. He already has three solo homers through the first five games of 2026 and has gone 5-for-19 (.263) over that span.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Supplies only offense in loss

Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Royals.

The second-year backstop took John Schreiber deep in the eighth inning to ruin a combined shutout for Kansas City. Baldwin has started all three of Atlanta's game so far, two at catcher and one at DH, while going 3-for-11 with two solo shots, a third run scored and a 2:2 BB:K.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Goes yard in Friday's opener

Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 6-0 win over the Royals.

The reigning NL Rookie of the Year got hold of a 93.4-mph fastball from Cole Ragans in the third inning, giving Atlanta its second of three long balls on the night against the left-hander. Baldwin slugged 19 homers in 124 games in his MLB debut last year, and expectations are sky high for the 25-year-old in 2026 as he figures to be a near-everyday player while splitting his time between catcher and DH.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Draws start at DH versus lefty

Baldwin will start at designated hitter and bat second in Friday's opener versus the Royals.

Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Atlanta manager Walt Weiss noted Thursday that he planned to use Baldwin at DH and Jonah Heim at catcher against left-handed pitching, and that's how things are set up Friday against Royals southpaw Cole Ragans. The left-handed-swinging Baldwin had virtually even splits in his rookie season, slashing .299/.358/.460 against lefties and .267/.336/.472 versus righties. Being used in the DH slot on days he doesn't catch is a big boost to Baldwin's outlook for counting stats.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Flashes power Monday

Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a home run and four RBI in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays.

After ripping a three-bagger off Nick Martinez in the second inning to bring home Mauricio Dubon, Baldwin clubbed a three-run blast to right field in the eighth off Yoendrys Gomez. The young catcher is having a strong spring, batting .333 (10-for-30) with two doubles, two triples and two homers as Baldwin looks to build on his dynamic 2025 rookie campaign.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Goes yard Sunday

Baldwin went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in Atlanta's Grapefruit League game against the Twins on Sunday.

The 24-year-old backstop took Taj Bradley deep in the third inning, the only run Atlanta scored off the right-hander. Baldwin took home NL Rookie of the Year honors in 2025, slashing .274/.341/.469 over 124 games with 19 homers and 80 RBI, and he'll be a key part of Atlanta's offense this season.
