Guardians' Nic Enright: Set for Tommy John surgery
Enright will undergo Tommy John surgery soon, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Enright has been sidelined since early September with an injury to his pitching arm, and it's been determined surgery is the best course of treatment. The right-handed reliever will not be ready to pitch in games again until 2027. Enright held a 2.03 ERA and 30:12 K:BB over 31 innings for the Guardians this season.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Placed on IL
The Guardians placed Enright on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow/forearm inflammation, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Enright pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning during his latest appearance Tuesday, but he appears to have come away from the outing with an elbow issue. The Guardians will now keep him on the shelf for at least two weeks and bring up Zak Kent from Triple-A Columbus to round out their bullpen.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Holds on for first save Monday
Enright earned the save in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts in the 10th inning.
It was the first save of the season for Enright, who hasn't conceded an earned run over his last six outings. Although the Guardians are without closer Emmanuel Clase while he's on non-disciplinary paid leave, Cade Smith, who worked the ninth inning Monday, remains the favorite for saves out of Cleveland's bullpen. That said, Enright does have a strong 2.01 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 22.1 innings.

The Guardians optioned Enright to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.
Cleveland summoned Enright from Triple-A to serve as the 27th man for Friday's doubleheader with the White Sox, but his stay with the big club lasted just one day. Guardians' Nic Enright: Debuts for Triple-A club
Enright (lat) issued three walks over a scoreless inning of relief Sunday for Triple-A Columbus after being activated from the 7-day injured list Friday.
Enright struggled to find the strike zone in his 2025 debut, but he was able to get himself out of a jam after loading the bases in the sixth inning. The right-hander had opened the season on Columbus' IL after he sustained a low-grade right lat strain prior to reporting to spring training. He possesses a spot on the Guardians' 40-man roster but is unlikely to be in the mix for a call-up anytime soon.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Starting 2025 in Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Enright (lat) to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.
Enright suffered a low-grade lat strain mid-February, but he has recently progressed to mound work. He'll begin the 2025 campaign in Triple-A, but he could make his major-league debut later in the season should the Guardians be in need of right-handed depth out of the bullpen. Enright appeared in 16 games for Columbus in 2024 and posted a 2-1 record with a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 31:5 K:BB and three saves across 17 innings.

Enright (lat) threw a bullpen session Saturday.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Dealing with strained lat
Enright is dealing with a low-grade right lat strain and is not expected to be game-ready until April.
It's not clear when Enright was diagnosed with the injury, but he is expected to resume a throwing program next week. Added to the 40-man roster over the offseason, Enright missed much of last season due to injury but was excellent when healthy, posting a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB over 17 innings with Triple-A Columbus.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Grabs spot on 40-man roster
The Guardians selected Enright to their 40-man roster Tuesday.
Enright missed four months of last season due to an injury, but he was dominant when healthy, putting up a 1.06 ERA and 0.82 WHIP alongside a 31:5 K:BB through 17 innings with Triple-A Columbus. The 27-year-old righty's performance has now earned him a spot on Cleveland's 40-man roster, and he could have a chance to make his MLB debut in 2025 if he turns in similar results to begin the minor-league season.

Guardians' Nic Enright: Returned to Cleveland
Enright was returned Thursday to the Guardians, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Miami selected Enright away from Cleveland during the Rule 5 Draft back in December, but he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma soon after and the Marlins ultimately designated him for assignment this past Sunday following a nine-appearance rehab stint between their Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. The 26-year-old right-hander has yet to pitch in a major-league game.

Marlins' Nic Enright: Activated, dropped from 40-man
The Marlins reinstated Enright (illness) from the 60-day injured list and designated him for assignment Monday.
After being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last December, Enright opened the season on the injured list, even though he was cleared to resume workouts during spring training. He was later transferred to the 60-day IL before he began an extended rehab assignment April 29. Between stops at Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville, the 26-year-old pitched to a 3.94 ERA and 1.06 WHIP while striking out 18 in 16 innings. With his 30-day rehab window coming to a close and the Marlins not having room for him in the big-league bullpen, Enright will now be exposed to waivers. Since the Marlins selected him in the Rule 5 Draft over the winter, Enright will have to be offered back to the Guardians if he clears waivers.
