Giants' Michael Gigliotti: Available off bench
Gigliotti (shoulder) is available off the bench for Saturday's Cactus League game versus the Brewers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Gigliotti was sidelined in August due to a shoulder injury, but it appears he's healthy for spring training. The outfielder logged a .215/.366/.343 slash line with seven home runs, 24 stolen bases, 29 RBI and 49 runs scored with Double-A Richmond last season. He could start the year there or at Triple-A Sacramento, but his patience at the plate and speed remain his best attributes.

Giants' Michael Gigliotti: Placed on 60-day IL
Gigliotti was placed on the 60-day injured list for an undisclosed reason Thursday.
Gigliotti spent most of the 2022 season at Double-A Richmond and logged a .366 on-base percentage with seven homers, 49 runs, 29 RBI and 24 stolen bases over 75 games. While the nature of his injury isn't yet clear, he'll be forced to miss the remainder of the season after landing on the 60-day IL.

Rays' Michael Gigliotti: Acquired by Rays
Gigliotti was traded from the Royals to the Rays on Saturday to complete the July trade that sent Stephen Woods the other way, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Gigliotti stole 36 bases in 87 minor-league games last season, giving him at least a bit of fantasy upside. Whether he can hit enough to make the climb to the big leagues remains to be seen, however, as he hit a strong .309/.394/.411 in 59 games for Low-A Lexington last season but saw his line collapse to .184/.268/.230 in 24 games upon promotion to High-A Wilmington. He'll join the Rays' player pool for the remainder of the year.
