  • Nationals' Parker Dunshee: Gets minor-league deal with Nats

Dunshee signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Tuesday. Dunshee reached the majors for the first time in 2024, making one long-relief appearance for Atlanta in August before being quickly cast off the 40-man roster. After electing free agency in November, Dunshee caught on with Mexican League club Toros de Tijuana, but he was released last week so that he could pursue opportunities in affiliated ball. The 30-year-old righty ultimately caught on with the Nationals and will serve as organization pitching depth at the Triple-A level.

  • Braves' Parker Dunshee: Clears waivers, outrighted

Dunshee cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Atlanta designated Dunshee for assignment Wednesday and after clearing waivers, the 29-year-old will return to Gwinnett. Dunshee has logged a 2.51 ERA across 32.1 innings at Triple-A but surrendered five runs in 2.1 innings during his MLB debut Aug. 8.

  • Braves' Parker Dunshee: Removed from 40-man roster

Atlanta designated Dunshee for assignment Wednesday. The club needed to free up a spot on its 40-man roster for the return of Michael Harris (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list, and Dunshee ended up being the casualty. Dunshee made his major-league debut last week, allowing five runs in a 2.1-inning relief appearance against the Brewers.

  • Braves' Parker Dunshee: Heading back to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Dunshee to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. Dunshee's contract was selected Thursday, and he threw 2.1 innings in Thursday's 16-7 loss to Milwaukee, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks. The outing marked the 29-year-old's MLB debut. Zach Logue was recalled from Gwinnett in a corresponding move.

  • Braves' Parker Dunshee: Contract selected

Atlanta selected Dunshee's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. Dunshee, 29, has split this season between Double-A Mississippi and Gwinnett, collecting an impressive 2.30 ERA and 66:18 K:BB over 47 innings. He will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Athletics' Parker Dunshee: Makes it into player pool

Dunshee is part of the 60-man player pool that will report to the Athletics' summer camp, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Dunshee mostly cruised through his first two-plus seasons in the minors before hitting Triple-A Las Vegas in the latter portion of 2019, a stint in which he scuffled to a 5.38 ERA across 20 appearances (19 starts). While the league's hitter-friendly conditions undoubtedly played a part in his struggles, Dunshee also took his lumps across three Cactus League appearances (12.27 ERA) before spring training was suspended. The right-hander seems much more likely to be part of a pool of up to 30 players that will train at an alternate location once the regular season begins than to make the Opening Day roster.
