  • Yankees' Camilo Doval: Loss, blown save in Yankees debut

Doval (4-3) was charged with the loss and a blown save in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Marlins, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk with no strikeouts in one-third of an inning. Doval disappointed in his Yankees debut, taking his fifth blown save of the season. The hierarchy of New York's new-look bullpen following the acquisition of David Bednar is not entirely settled, though it's worth noting that Doval has struggled quite a bit recently and is seeing his fantasy stock drop. Since the start of June, the right-hander has a 5.64 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB across 22.1 innings.

  • Yankees' Camilo Doval: Dealt to Yankees

Doval was traded from the Giants to the Yankees on Thursday in exchange for Jesus Rodriguez, Parks Harber and Trystan Vrieling, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Doval had been the Giants' closer for the past couple months, but he hadn't recorded a save since July 11. Now that he joins a loaded Yankees bullpen, Doval will likely have to settle for opportunities in the seventh and eighth innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Allows two runs Friday

Doval allowed two earned runs on three hits while hitting one batter and striking out three across one inning in Friday's 8-1 defeat to the Mets. Doval entered the game in the ninth inning, hitting the first batter he faced before striking out the next two. However, the right-hander then surrendered a ground-rule double and threw a wild pitch, allowing a run to score before giving up an RBI single. The 28-year-old has made seven appearances this month, posting a 5.63 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB with two saves and one blown save across eight innings during that span.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Escapes with save Friday

Doval allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 8-7 win over the Dodgers. Doval allowed runners to reach first and second with one out, but he got Will Smith to ground into a double play to end the threat. Doval has allowed at least one baserunner in six of his last seven outings, and this was just the third time he's avoided giving up any runs during that span, having been tagged for nine runs (eight earned) over his last 7.2 innings. Doval hasn't lost out on closing duties yet, but he's on shaky ground if he can't steady his performance. For the season, he's earned 15 saves with a 3.02 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 38:21 K:BB through 41.2 innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Notches 14th save

Doval recorded a save against the Phillies on Monday, walking one batter in a hitless and scoreless inning. Doval was called upon in the ninth frame to protect a two-run lead. He walked the first batter in the inning but faced the minimum amount of hitters thanks to a game-ending double play. This was a promising outing after Doval gave up nine runs (eight earned) over his previous five appearances spanning 5.2 innings. He's remained the Giants' primary closer despite that rough stretch and has succeeded on 14 of 18 save opportunities on the campaign.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Blows save, lands win

Doval (4-2) blew a save but picked up the win Wednesday against Arizona, allowing two runs on two hits with three strikeouts over two innings. Doval surrendered a game-tying two-run home run to Ketel Marte in the bottom of the ninth, but he returned for the 10th inning -- inheriting a one-run lead -- and retired the side to wind up with a win. Doval is in the midst of a rough patch, having allowed multiple runs in three of his last four appearances. The stretch has inflated his ERA from 1.59 to 3.03.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Escapes with 12th save

Doval earned the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox, allowing two runs on three hits in the ninth inning without recording a walk or a strikeout. Doval entered the ninth with a three-run lead and gave up three straight hits before settling down to retire the next three batters and secure the win. While the 27-year-old has converted six of seven save chances in June, he's also allowed five earned runs across 10 appearances. On the season, he's 12-for-15 in save opportunities with a 2.06 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 33:15 K:BB over 35 innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Slams door for save No. 11

Doval picked up the save in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Guardians, fanning one during a clean ninth inning. Doval is now up to 11 saves for the season, and he continues to be effective as San Francisco's closer. Since officially being named the club's stopper by manager Bob Melvin on May 28, Doval has converted six of his seven save opportunities and has posted a 2.53 ERA with 13 strikeouts over his last 10.2 innings. However, the hard-throwing right-hander does have a shaky 1.69 WHIP during that period, so he has some control issues to iron out.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Secures save in comeback win

Doval picked up his 10th save in Tuesday's 6-5 victory over the Rockies. He allowed two hits and one walk with no strikeouts over a scoreless inning. Doval had a shaky outing but managed to close out the Rockies after the Giants took a one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning. Since surrendering two runs and blowing a save against the Padres on June 5, the right-hander has turned in four straight scoreless appearances, including three saves. While control has occasionally been an issue, the flamethrower has been outstanding overall in 2025, pitching to a 1.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 31 innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Notches ninth save

Doval picked up the save Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning. Doval surrendered two runs in a blown save against the Padres on Tuesday, but he's bounced back with three consecutive scoreless outings, accumulating six strikeouts during that stretch. The 27-year-old has cashed in on nine of his 12 save chances this season and owns a 1.50 ERA across 30 innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Rebounds for eighth save

Doval earned the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Padres, allowing two hits while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning. After suffering a blown save in his last appearance Tuesday, Doval found himself in trouble again against the Padres, allowing a pair of singles that put the tying and go-ahead runs on base. However, Doval would rebound to strike out Jake Cronenworth for the final out, closing out a one-run Giants victory. Doval's allowed just two runs in his last 22.2 innings while reclaiming the ninth-inning job in San Francisco. His ERA sits at 1.61 on the year with a 0.96 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 28 innings while converting eight of 11 save opportunities.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Blows save Tuesday

Doval allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over one inning to take a blown save in Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Padres. Doval entered Tuesday on a 20.2-inning scoreless streak. He ran into trouble with back-to-back two-out walks, and he then gave up the tying hit, a two-run single, to Manny Machado. Aside from a rough patch in early April, Doval has been lights-out in a high-leverage role for the Giants this year, and that earned him the closer role officially last Wednesday, taking it back from the struggling Ryan Walker. Even with this poor outing, Doval has a 1.67 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB across 27 innings this season. He's added seven saves, seven holds and three blown saves. He should be able to maintain at least some closing duties as long as one bad outing doesn't snowball into a slump.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Steps in for fourth save Wednesday

Doval picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Brewers after recording two outs in the ninth inning, striking out one. Ryan Walker was able to log just one out before being pulled from a non-save situation, allowing two runs on three hits to make it a 4-2 game. That created a save situation for Doval, who fired each of his five pitches for strikes to tally his fourth save of the year. Both Walker and Doval have received six save chances apiece to begin the campaign, so this hierarchy atop San Francisco's bullpen has been more of a committee than expected so far. Doval has a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB while converting four of his six save chances over 11 innings.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Struggles with control Monday

Doval (1-1) was charged with the loss Monday, allowing two earned runs on no hits and a walk across one-third of an inning during San Francisco's 2-0 loss to the Reds. He also hit one batter. Doval walked the first batter he faced before hitting the second. Both runners came around to score after the right-handed reliever was pulled. The 27-year-old faced three hitters Monday, throwing only three strikes across 11 pitches. Doval has given up all three of his earned runs in the Giants' last two games, logging a 5.06 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 2:3 K:BB over 5.1 frames in six appearances.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Secures second save of 2025

Doval earned the save in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Astros, pitching a scoreless inning with no strikeouts. Doval induced three consecutive outs in just 10 pitches during the ninth frame, securing his second save in three appearances this season. The right-hander has yet to allow a hit across three innings in the 2025 campaign, recording a strikeout and no walks. Ryan Walker took over the closing role due to Doval's struggles in the middle of last season, and while Walker will likely continue to receive the bulk of the ninth-inning work, Doval should still remain a key part of the back-end mix in San Francisco.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Earns first save

Doval earned the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Reds, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning. With closer Ryan Walker sidelined by back tightness, Doval stepped in and locked down the save on just 11 pitches. If Walker remains unavailable, the 27-year-old Doval's experience in the role should give him the edge to handle the team's save opportunities moving forward.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Expected back on road trip

Giants manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that he expects Doval to be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento sometime during the team's Aug. 23-29 road trip, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. What role Doval would fill has not yet been determined, as Ryan Walker has been excellent since taking over the closer role. Since being demoted to Sacramento, Doval has allowed two runs with a 5:1 K:BB over four innings of work. Just one free pass is encouraging to see, as Doval's 13.3 percent walk rate was a major reason why the Giants opted to send him down. When the former closer does rejoin the big-league bullpen, he could work in low-leverage spots initially.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Escapes with 22nd save

Doval gave up a hit, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his 22nd save of the season in a 7-4 win over the Nationals. The right-hander got into trouble by loading the bases with one out, but Doval coaxed a double-play grounder out of Alex Call to end the game. The Giants' closer has been shaky of late, posting a 5.68 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB in 6.1 innings over his last seven appearances, but he's still managed to successfully convert his last five save chances.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Grabs 19th save

Doval allowed one hit in a scoreless inning while striking out one to earn a save over Colorado on Saturday. Doval entered with a three-run lead in the ninth and saw the tying run come up to the plate, but he managed to come out unscathed for the save. It was Doval's 19th save in his 23rd opportunity, a far cry from his league-leading 39 saves last season. The 27-year-old has a 4.28 ERA through 40 innings, but a high walk total has led to a 1.60 WHIP thus far.

  • Giants' Camilo Doval: Notches 18th save

Doval issued one walk in a scoreless inning while striking out two batters to earn a save over Colorado on Sunday. Doval made his first appearance since blowing a save in his final outing before the All-Star break. This time, he worked around a two-out walk to secure the 3-2 win. Doval has converted 18 of his 22 save chances, but he's blown two of the last six. He lowered his ERA to 4.26 alongside a 51:25 K:BB through 40 appearances.
