Padres' Luis Arraez: Three hits, two steals in loss
Arraez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two stolen bases in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.
Arraez had been a little quiet at the plate recently, going just 2-for-19 over his previous five games. The pair of steals were his first thefts since July 21 versus the Marlins. Arraez is at a .291/.327/.399 slash line with six home runs, seven steals, 46 RBI, 52 runs scored, 26 doubles and four triples through 118 contests. He remains on pace to exceed 30 two-baggers for the fourth year in a row.

Padres' Luis Arraez: Clubs rare homer
Arraez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 7-6 win against the Mets on Monday.
Arraez struck a ball off the right-field foul pole in the fifth inning for San Diego's lone long ball of the game. It was just the sixth homer this season for the contact-focused hitter, whose career high is 10 home runs set over 147 regular-season games with Miami in 2023. Arraez's two knocks Monday extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a span in which he's batting .391 (18-for-46) with just one strikeout.

Overall, he's batting .293 with a .736 OPS, 35 RBI, 39 runs scored, four stolen bases, 17 doubles and four triples across 85 games.

Padres' Luis Arraez: Launches rare homer Saturday
Arraez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Saturday in a 6-4 win against Cincinnati.
Arraez put the Padres on the board in the fifth inning with a solo shot to right field. The long ball was his first since April 18 and just his fourth overall this season. Of course, fantasy managers who roster Arraez don't expect much power from him, as he's never hit more than 10 home runs in a single MLB campaign. The three-time batting champion has been somewhat disappointing in other areas this season, though, as he's batting a mortal .283 -- well below his career average.

Padres' Luis Arraez: Settling into leadoff spot
Arraez is batting leadoff and starting at first base against the Reds on Saturday.
This is the third straight game in which Arraez has batted leadoff, while Fernando Tatis -- who had previously spent much of the campaign in the leadoff role -- has shifted into the cleanup spot. Arraez is having a subpar season by his standards with a .705 OPS (on pace the for the lowest mark of his career), but he has plenty of experience atop the order after having hit in that spot for most of his career. Arraez collected three hits Wednesday upon moving back to batting leadoff before going 0-for-4 on Friday.

Padres' Luis Arraez: Extends streak with three hits
Arraez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Nationals.
Arraez was responsible for half of the Padres' six hits Wednesday, including a two-out RBI single in the second inning that provided the lone run in the game. Arraez extended his hitting streak to 12 games -- he's gone 19-for-53 (.358) in that span. Overall, the former batting champ is slashing .288/.317/.397 with three homers, 30 RBI, 37 runs scored and three steals across 323 plate appearances this season.
