  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Scorching at Triple-A

Quero went 15-for-38 (.395) with three home runs, five doubles, 15 RBI and a 5:8 BB:K over his last 11 games with Triple-A Nashville. Quero -- who underwent right shoulder surgery in April of 2024 -- had not done much hitting before landing on the injured list in late July with a left shoulder injury, but he has been a man on a mission since being activated earlier this month. Quero is one of Milwaukee's top prospects at the catcher position and will turn 23 years old in October, and with him seemingly back at full strength, he figures to have a strong case to be the backup backstop for the Brewers in 2026.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Activated off minor-league IL

Quero (shoulder) was activated off the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Quero was not even two weeks into a projected 3-to-4 week absence with a mild left shoulder sprain, so he appears to have recovered much faster than anticipated. The 22-year-old has slashed .259/.333/.362 with two home runs in 30 games with Nashville this year.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Out 3-to-4 weeks

Quero was placed on Triple-A Nashville's injured list and will miss 3-to-4 weeks due to a mild left shoulder sprain, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Quero was pulled from Wednesday's contest after four innings as he appeared to hurt his shoulder while trying to tag out a baserunner earlier in the game. The young backstop missed most of the 2024 campaign due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but this appears to be a milder injury to the other shoulder and shouldn't keep him out for the remainder of the campaign. Quero could be back in action in late August if he hits his expected return timeframe.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Dealing with arm injury

Quero was removed Wednesday from Triple-A Nashville's 14-13 win over Charlotte after four innings due to an apparent left arm injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The catching prospect appeared to suffer the injury to his non-throwing arm while attempting to tag out a baserunner earlier in the contest. The Brewers haven't provided an update on Quero's injury, but more information on his status could be available when he gets examined Thursday. After missing nearly all of the 2024 season while recovering from surgery to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Quero has slashed .259/.333/.362 with two home runs and two stolen bases over 129 plate appearances with Nashville in 2025.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Back from hamstring injury

Quero (hamstring) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list by Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The 22-year-old opened the campaign on the injured list due to a hamstring injury but is ready to make his 2025 Triple-A debut after an 11-game rehab assignment in the lower minors. Quero, who is one of Milwaukee's top prospects, spent last season at the Double-A level and had a .262/.340/.443 slash line with 16 homers and five steals in 90 games.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Makes season debut

Quero (hamstring), per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, "played his first minor-league game of the season Monday... for Milwaukee's Arizona Complex League club." A hamstring injury delayed Quero's start to the season, but he seems to be nearing a full recovery. The 22-year-old missed nearly all of last season with a shoulder injury, but he remains both one of Milwaukee's top prospects and one of the better catching prospects league-wide.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Playing in minor-league game

Quero (shoulder) will start at designated hitter and bat second in a minor-league game with Double-A Biloxi on Monday. After he underwent right shoulder surgery last April that limited him to just one game in 2024, Quero was eased into spring training. Quero didn't make any Cactus League appearances before the Brewers optioned him to Triple-A Nashville on March 10, but his ability to serve as a DH on Monday suggests that he'll be ready to go for the start of the minor-league season. It's unclear if Quero will be limited to DH-only duties initially, or if he'll be ready to make starts behind the plate.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Cut from big-league camp

The Brewers optioned Quero (shoulder) to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Manager Pat Murphy said before the start of camp that he expected Quero to play in Cactus League games this spring, but the young catcher didn't see any action before getting cut. Quero missed virtually all of the 2024 season following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but Murphy said Monday that he anticipates that the 22-year-old will be ready to serve as a designated hitter when Nashville's season begins March 28, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Set for shoulder surgery

Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Wednesday that Quero will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Quero suffered the injury in Triple-A Nashville's first game of the season while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt. His rehab from surgery is expected to take around nine months, so Quero should be ready for the start of spring training. The 21-year-old was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster last offseason after posting a .779 OPS with 16 home runs at Double-A Biloxi in 2023.

Quero was removed from Triple-A Nashville's game Friday with an apparent shoulder injury, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports. The specifics of the injury are unclear, but it's a discouraging development for Quero in the first game of the season.

Double-A Biloxi reinstated Quero (hand) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday. The 20-year-old slugged 13 home runs and hit .289 in 268 plate appearances with Biloxi prior to landing on the shelf.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Cruising at Double-A

Quero went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI in a game with Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday. Opinions on his future outlook vary to some degree, but he is one of the better catching prospects around the league and the top backstop prospect in Milwaukee's system.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Shakes off shoulder injury

Quero (shoulder) has gone 2-for-15 with a solo home run and a walk in four games since returning to the High-A Wisconsin lineup. Quero was sidelined for just over a week with right shoulder soreness but never required a trip to the 7-day injured list. He's been able to make two of his four starts at catcher since returning to action, so the shoulder doesn't appear to be affecting him when he throws.
